Bruno Sialelli, the much celebrated Creative Director of Lanvin is announced to leave the Creative Direction of the iconic French Maison. Sailelli took the helm of Lanvin in front of the most challenging time for the fashion industry, the unexpected pandemic is what he had to face after taking his spot in 2019.

The restructuring includes a few new plans for the house of Lanvin, such as the opening of the Lanvin Lab where the house will invite new creative talent each season to work at their ateliers. Lanvin Lab is set to stand side to side next to Lanvin’s ready to wear lines. According to WWD – the first guest designer is to be announced in the coming weeks.

Even the Lanvin atelier team was informed only on Friday last week of this change at the helm of the fashion house. Continuing the house is announced to focus on its leather goods and accessories. Both are the maison’s driving force, dominating more than fifty percent of profit for the house.

“Lanvin is poised for a new chapter. As we reimagine the brand, embracing the values instilled in it by Jeanne Lanvin over 130 years ago, we situate the house at the vanguard of fashion and culture at a time of extraordinary and inspiring change.” shared Siddhartha Shukla, deputy general manager in a statement shared for WWD.

Bruno Sialelli during his tenure at Lanvin has mostly kept out of the spotlight, yet under his helm the brand seemed to be out of the murky whatever of the fashion industry, with a stable and once again growing influence. Many of that loss after the leave of Alber Elbaz in 2015, met with a shock not only of Lanvin’s staffers but the fashion industry as well. Bruno Sialelli also had to adjust his work to the three different management changes at the house of Lanvin. From Jean-Philippe Hecquet who brought him into Lanvin, to Arnaud Bazin and in 2012 Siddhartha Shukla who is now at the lead of the changes facing Lanvin. Shukla was brought to the house from Theory, where he was at the position of brand’s Chief Office.

In the official statement, Shukla shared , “We are grateful to Bruno for his passion and commitment to the house and wish him the best as his creative journey continues.” While Sialelli adds: “I am deeply proud of what we have achieved at Lanvin over the past four years and wish to thank Lanvin and my team who through their unique talents and dedication have accompanied me in this great adventure.”

Newly released campaign stars supermodel Raquel Zimmermann – ©LANVIN, Photography by Steven Meisel

Lanvin has only yesterday released the latest images of its Spring Summer 2023 collection titled ‘Modern Heroes’ and lensed by the iconic Steven Meisel. The campaign also saw the return of supermodel Raquel Zimmermann, posing in Lanvin’s lauded take on minimal chic.

It is yet unclear if Bruno Sialelli is to present one more collection for the brand, however the house has confirmed continuing with its participation on the Paris Fashion Week schedule. Sailelli’s last collection presented for the house was the Lanvin Fall Winter 2023 runway collection.

Sialelli has worked at Loewe, but also Balenciaga under the helm of Nicolas Ghesquiere and Alexander Wang. While at ACNE Studios Bruno was the senior designer for womenswear as well as at Paco Rabanne.
