ROSÉ “Messy” – Video Still

BLACKPINK member ROSÉ delivers the new single “Messy,” setting the tone for the upcoming F1 The Movie with emotional tension and glossy production on the official soundtrack. As the second single from F1 The Album, the track pairs pulsing pop with introspective lyrics, capturing the disarray and desire of a relationship that thrives in chaos. Produced by Lostboy and Burns, “Messy” leans into sleekness without losing emotional weight, echoing the film’s own high-stakes energy.

MUSIC

Rather than present a neatly packaged love song, ROSÉ embraces disorder. “Let’s get messy,” she sings, an invitation not just to abandon restraint, but to explore what happens when vulnerability takes over. The song plays with control and collapse, much like the racing drama it supports.

The release of “Messy” came with a cinematic music video that moves through neon-lit Las Vegas. ROSÉ appears alone in a series of locations, a bar, a theater, and the open night streets, capturing both glamor and disconnection. Her scenes connect directly with exclusive clips from F1 The Movie, offering a first look at Brad Pitt and Kerry Condon in action.

The blend of ROSÉ’s solo presence with film footage creates a shared atmosphere of urgency and isolation. Her visual narrative doesn’t mirror the film’s racing sequences, but it matches its emotional undercurrent: characters in motion, seeking control, finding tension.

The production scaled up for the shoot, shutting down parts of the Las Vegas Strip. That choice reflects the high visibility of both the film and the artist, two major forces converging for a shared moment in music and cinema.

“Messy” follows Don Toliver’s “Lose My Mind” featuring Doja Cat, the first single from F1 The Album. The full soundtrack arrives on June 27, 2025, the same day F1 The Movie premieres in theaters. The album promises a wide lineup of artists, each contributing tracks designed to mirror the film’s energy and tone.

ROSÉ’s track stands out not just for its placement, but for how it adds a layer of emotional complexity to the soundtrack. Rather than chase adrenaline, “Messy” slows down. It offers space for vulnerability, turning the chaos inward rather than outward.

Although best known as a member of BLACKPINK, ROSÉ continues to establish a distinct solo identity. Her vocal style, clear, controlled, and emotionally resonant, gives “Messy” its weight. She doesn’t overpower the track with drama, she carries it with quiet precision, letting the tension build gradually. This release builds on her earlier solo success while connecting her to a new kind of stage: the soundtrack to a Hollywood feature.

The pairing of ROSÉ’s performance with new scenes from F1 The Movie creates anticipation on two fronts. Fans of the singer get a high-production visual narrative, while viewers waiting for the film gain an early sense of tone and scale. Brad Pitt and Kerry Condon appear in tight cuts that tease the story without revealing much. The aesthetic, glossy, fast, moody, lines up with the sound of the song and the nighttime city visuals.

Las Vegas becomes the shared setting, grounding both the video and film in a space known for excess and spectacle. That choice underlines the emotional stakes of the project: when everything runs at high speed, clarity becomes hard to hold onto.

F1 The Album launches on June 27, the same day F1 The Movie hits theaters, positioning “Messy” as an early pulse in what promises to be a tightly connected music and film experience.
