Bob Odenkirk returns as Hutch Mansell in Nobody 2, the action-thriller sequel that pulls no punches, literally. Directed by Timo Tjahjanto and penned by Derek Kolstad and Aaron Rabin, the film picks up four years after the events of the 2021 original, with Hutch still paying the price of his brutal run-in with the Russian mob. Though the bloodbath may have ended, his tab hasn’t. Hutch now owes $30 million and chips away at it by handling global assignments for the criminal network he tried to escape.

Despite a taste for adrenaline, Hutch struggles to hold on to the life he rebuilt with his wife, Becca, played again by Connie Nielsen, and their kids. Both parents feel the weight of their double lives. Between covert assassinations and daily stress, something has to give. Hoping to reconnect and reclaim a sliver of peace, they plan a family trip to Wild Bill’s Majestic Midway and Waterpark. The location carries personal meaning: Hutch and his brother Harry (RZA) once vacationed there as children.
With Christopher Lloyd reprising his role as Hutch’s trigger-happy father, the family heads to Plummerville, a kitschy vacation town that promises lazy rivers and fried food. But in this universe, even the most innocent plan unravels fast. A confrontation with local punks spirals out of control, landing Hutch and his family in the middle of a power struggle involving the park’s corrupt owner, played by John Ortiz, and a crooked sheriff brought to life by Colin Hanks.

What begins as an awkward encounter at a carnival booth soon escalates into a full-blown war when a new villain enters the picture. Sharon Stone steps into the role of a deranged crime boss, unpredictable, vicious, and far more dangerous than anything Hutch has faced before. Her performance marks a shift in tone, bringing cold precision to the chaos that erupts across Plummerville.

As with the original, Nobody 2 draws its punch from the way it mixes small-town absurdity with extreme violence. The team behind the camera ensures the action hits hard and fast. Returning writer Derek Kolstad, best known for John Wick, joins forces with Jack Ryan scribe Aaron Rabin to shape a script that keeps the pace tight. With Tjahjanto’s eye for choreography and grit, the sequel cranks the spectacle up a few notches.

The production lineup includes familiar names. Kelly McCormick and David Leitch of 87North, known for Bullet Train and The Fall Guy, team up with Marc Provissiero, Braden Aftergood, and Bob Odenkirk himself. The combination promises to deliver the kind of bone-crunching combat and dry humor that defined the first film. The film is set to hit theaters nationwide on August 15, 2025.
this just looks terrible!
