As the leaves change colour and summer slowly draws to a close, the cooler season begins and it’s time to rethink your wardrobe. But what is one of the essential items of clothing that should not be missing for autumn/winter 2025/2026? Of course a well-tailored, perfectly fitting and comfortable suit. No matter how fast-paced your everyday life is and what challenges you have to overcome, this garment offers security and emphasises a classic, serious overall impression. Furthermore this look radiates strength and authority.
A timeless overall appearance plays a major role in the outfits for the new season, so we set out to find functional styles that impressed us not only with their tailored fit and quality, but also with their fine details and modern touch. Currently, the focus is on traditional influences and classic cuts, creating a versatile overall picture. At the beginning of the season, it is advantageous to opt for lighter to medium-weight fabrics that keep you warm but don’t make you sweat. As the days get colder, the materials can become heavier and warmer.
The colour palette for autumn/winter 2025/2026 is dominated by classic shades, such as black, snow white, graphite, fossil and several earthy brown nuances. However, some labels surprise with beautiful colour highlights: DIOR, for example, features a graceful, elegant rose colour, which is skillfully paired with black. The result is a beautiful look that will undoubtedly remain in your memory.
One trend that can be seen time and time again are casual oversized styles. They are interpreted in different, often playful ways and are therefore a major theme in the new season. Several voluminous double-breasted suits inspired by the 80s envelop the wearer and exude a certain casualness.
In terms of cut, the classic style is preferred. Here, too, safety and a chic overall impression play a major role. Small details and deviations are noticeable in a number of models, but the preferred, timeless overall impression remains. When it comes to the pattern choice: if you like it, it’s allowed. Plaid pattern is one of the predominant trends for this season (as you can see it in one of our JOOP! looks) and appears repeatedly in various designs.
A great idea for the new season is to wear separates. If you invest in a high-quality blazer, you can create numerous different looks thanks to mix & match. It takes a bit of creativity to put these outfits together, and lightens up the overall picture- with a focus on high quality, you can’t go wrong with classic menswear colours. Another advantage: this creates a new look every day and speaks for your own personal fashion sense, combining it again and again in new ways.
When it comes to the lapels, labels are showing off their best work this season, offering a variety of cuts – from shawl collars to very classic notch and peaked lapels. Ties are still around and emphasise the individual character of some looks. Either choose a colour that blends in nicely with the overall colour scheme, or got for the opposite and add some colourful accents. Vintage ties with the most individual motifs and decorations are also very common at the moment.
One tip that always holds true is that it is better to invest in one high-quality item than in many cheap ones. On the one hand, this is naturally more sustainable, and on the other hand, you will have a favourite piece that will last for many years and can even be passed on to the next generation.
Of course, as every season, there are surprises and labels that present very individual ideas, such as Marina Hoermanseder’s suit version. With a bright, candy-coloured suit design featuring a waistcoat and googly eyes as appliqués, this set is the perfect addition for those of you who love to experiment.
Ultimately, it is important to understand that a man’s suit is more than just an item of clothing. It emphasises the individuality, personality, power and elegance of the modern man. And to be completely honest, who doesn’t need a little elegance and sophistication to shine in the dreary autumn/winter weather?
