Sky shares the official trailer for Gomorrah – The Origins, the six-episode prequel to its global crime saga. Produced by Sky Studios and Cattleya, part of ITV Studios, the series draws from Roberto Saviano’s bestselling Gomorra and arrives early 2026 on Sky and NOW. The new chapter expands the long-running franchise with a focus on the early years of Pietro Savastano, whose rise as a mob boss shaped the events of the original series.

The drama takes place in 1977 Naples, a city marked by poverty, cigarette smuggling, and tension ahead of the heroin era. The creators root the story in a period of economic pressure and social volatility, showing the environment that shaped Pietro. He begins as a kid from the roughest parts of Secondigliano, chasing survival with his friends, riding mopeds through the neighborhood, and committing petty theft. He dreams of something larger: the authority held by Angelo “A Sirena,” whose influence defines the area’s criminal hierarchy.
The series follows Pietro as he earns Angelo’s trust and gains access to a higher level of power. This step forces him into situations he cannot control, pushing him deeper into violence and testing his sense of purpose. The narrative also reveals an emotional fracture in his life: his relationship with Imma, a young musician with ambitions beyond Naples. Her presence forces him to question whether he wants the criminal future everyone expects from him or whether he can reshape his fate.
Marco D’Amore directs the first four episodes, contributes to the writing team, and oversees the project artistically. Francesco Ghiaccio directs the final two episodes. The creative team consists of Leonardo Fasoli, Maddalena Ravagli, and Roberto Saviano, with Beta Film handling international distribution. Their collaboration extends from the bible and outlines through to the full screenplays, which further develop the characters’ early lives.
Luca Lubrano leads the cast as the young Pietro Savastano. Francesco Pellegrino plays Angelo “A Sirena,” who carries the weight of a criminal legacy he never chose, while Flavio Furno appears as “O Paisano,” a convict gathering support for a new vision of the Camorra. Tullia Venezia portrays the young Imma, whose musical talent and ambition contrast sharply with Pietro’s circumstances. Fabiola Balestriere plays Annalisa Magliocca, future Scianel, shown here as a young mother trapped under the control of a violent husband. The ensemble also includes Antonio Buono, Ciro Burzo, Luigi Cardone, Antonio Del Duca, Mattia Francesco Cozzolino, Junior Rancel Rodriguez Arcia, and Antonio Incalza.
Gomorrah – The Origins premieres exclusively on Sky and NOW in early 2026, offering viewers the earliest chapter of Pietro Savastano’s story and the foundation of one of television’s most influential crime universes.
