Charli XCX enters a new phase of her creative output with The Moment, a feature film that places pop stardom under close scrutiny. Directed by Aidan Zamiri and written by Zamiri alongside Bertie Brandes, the project draws from an original idea by Charli herself and extends her work beyond music into narrative filmmaking.
MOVIES
The Moment follows a rising pop star as she prepares for her first headline arena tour. Framed as a mockumentary, the film tracks the weeks leading up to this career milestone, focusing on the systems that surround fame and the pressure that accompanies commercial scale. Rather than presenting a tour film or performance record, the story examines the machinery of the music industry and the ways subculture shifts when success expands its reach.
Charli leads a wide ensemble cast that includes Kylie Jenner, Rachel Sennott, Kate Berlant, Alexander Skarsgård, Rosanna Arquette, Jamie Demetriou, Arielle Dombasle, Hailey Benton Gates, Trew Mullen, Mel Ottenberg, Isaac Powell, Rish Shah, and Michael Workéyè.
Behind the camera, Zamiri continues a creative relationship with Charli that began through her recent music videos, including “360” and “Guess” featuring Billie Eilish. His direction favors a self-aware tone that aligns with the mockumentary format. Brandes brings editorial sensibility from his background as founder of the former print magazine Mushpit.

Production credits place Charli in an active role beyond performance. She serves as a producer alongside David Hinojosa, both credited as p.g.a., and develops the project through her production company, Studio365. The film’s music includes original contributions from A. G. Cook, whose involvement connects the narrative world of the film to contemporary pop production.
The Moment sits between pop culture and cinema, adopting a documentary form to examine access, authorship, and control. By focusing on preparation, the film directs attention to the systems that shape success well before performance begins. A24 releases the film in the United States on January 30, 2026, followed by its arrival in UK and Ireland cinemas on Friday, February 20.
