The collection pairs Clark’s first signature shoe with 18 apparel pieces built for performance and everyday wear

Nike introduces the Caitlin 1, Caitlin Clark’s first signature basketball shoe and the lead product in a wider footwear and apparel collection shaped around her game. Nike engineered the silhouette around Clark’s speed, shooting range and unpredictability, while personal details connect the design to her number, initials and early years playing basketball at home.

The Caitlin 1 introduces Nike Opticast, a new upper construction that uses cast polyurethane nodes at varied heights to provide lightweight support and reduce drag. Their arrangement takes visual cues from the ripple of a three-point arc. On the lateral side, the nodes form a sequence of C’s, while repeated 2s on the medial side reference Clark’s jersey number.

Nike pairs the upper with a forefoot Air Zoom Turbo unit and a Cushlon midsole. Together, the two elements provide responsiveness, containment, court feel and quicker feedback during play. Nike also adapted the adult design for youth sizing, adjusting details to improve flexibility and range of motion for younger players.

Clark added several personal elements throughout the shoe. Her signature CC logo appears on the tongue, while stacked Swooshes reference the repetition of her initials. The outsole carries three phrases connected to her shooting mentality: “Shoot More Threes,” “From Anywhere” and “It Was Never a Long Shot.” Each sock liner uses a cement-inspired graphic that references the driveway court where Clark developed her game and gradually extended the distance of her shots.

A lot of thought and time has gone into this shoe. I never thought I would have my own signature shoe, and now that I do, it’s pretty special.

Nike will introduce the Caitlin 1 through several colorways. Caitlin Blue takes its palette from the depth of the sky and links that imagery to Clark’s shooting range. Warning Code reverses the Caitlin Blue palette with yellow tones inspired by natural warning colors and Clark’s intensity on court.

Midnight Fever uses Hot Punch and references Clark’s 22nd league game, when she became the first WNBA rookie to record a triple-double. Purple Venom draws from her alma mater and the ability of hawks to see ultraviolet light, connecting that reference to Clark’s court vision.

The Ice Cold colorway references Clark’s composure under pressure and marks her career-high performance and the league’s first 45-point, 10-assist double-double. Cave Stone uses sand-like tones and links them to the calm required during clutch step-back jumpers and drives to the basket.

We’re trying to make the best shoe there’s ever been. It checks every box.

The footwear arrives alongside an 18-piece Caitlin 1 apparel collection that covers performance products and everyday sportswear. Nike introduces Standard Issue Stretch through the range, bringing Nike Standard Issue styling to women basketball players for the first time. The line combines familiar athletic shapes with performance technology and elevated materials.

Clark’s Aero-FIT pieces use Nike’s cooling technology and feature a cement-inspired allover print that refers again to the home court where she spent hours developing her game. Jackets, graphic hoodies, T-shirts and other staples extend the collection beyond game-day products while retaining links to Clark’s routines and personal style. Clark’s feedback guided the development of pieces she could wear before, during and after games.

The Caitlin 1 extends Clark’s longstanding relationship with Nike into her first complete signature footwear and apparel range. Clark also connects the project to younger athletes, expressing hope that children who wear the shoe can imagine developing their own signature product or shooting from 35 feet.

Nike will launch the Caitlin 1 shoe and apparel collection on September 24 in China, followed by a global release on October 1 through nike.com and select retailers.
