Culture Collective returned for the second edition of Ibiza Art Weekend, bringing 70 international artists to Hï Ibiza, Ushuaïa Ibiza and [UNVRS]. Held from 11 to 13 September 2026, the event featured work by Marina Abramović and Sir Michael Craig-Martin, alongside David Bailey, Gorillaz, Goldie, Ian Davenport, Hajime Sorayama, Vhils, Anthony James, Domingo Zapata, Lorenzo Masnah and Nazareno Biondo.

ART

W1 Curates and The Night League staged the second edition with Clive Christian Perfumes, while Liquides Imaginaires, Mastering The Mix and FLANNELS joined as additional partners. New murals, sculpture, digital art and conversations extended through all three venues, followed by nights with CamelPhat, ANTS and Carl Cox.

The exhibitions also continue beyond the weekend. Indoor works stay on view through October 2026, while outdoor installations remain accessible until May 2027.

From Craig-Martin’s Colour to Abramović’s Digital Identity

At Hï Ibiza, Craig-Martin’s Music fills the 70-metre digital gallery on the rooftop terrace with vividly coloured images of instruments and headphones. W1 Curates commissioned the work, which continues through October before travelling to London during Frieze.

Craig-Martin has long expressed interest in showing art outside museums and galleries, and the Ibiza installation brings his graphic vocabulary into a setting closely connected with its subject. Familiar objects associated with listening and performing appear throughout the architecture as animated images.

Abramović approached technology from another direction. TAEX presented ELEMENTS, which explores identity, performance, presence and what it means to appear in the digital age. The two projects gave the weekend distinct readings of digital space: Craig-Martin worked through scale, colour and familiar objects, while Abramović examined identity and visibility through technology.

Both projects used digital formats, though they arrived there through separate concerns. Craig-Martin focused on objects, colour and animation; Abramović examined identity and the experience of being seen through technology.

Hï Ibiza Turns Its Exterior Into an Exhibition

Some of the weekend’s most immediate work appeared directly on Hï Ibiza.

Domingo Zapata spent the days before the opening painting the façade and exterior walls in collaboration with Culture Collective and Clive Christian Perfumes. Pandas appeared throughout the commission, including a giant panda riding a rocket, alongside the phrase “Don’t Grow Up, It’s a Trap!”

Zapata drew the colour palette from childhood memories of Ibiza and Mallorca, returning to references that have stayed with him through years living abroad. His commission continued two decades of mural work and reflected his interest in placing art directly in public view.

Nearby, Lorenzo Masnah translated CryptoPunks’ pixelated portraits into a hand-painted Punks mural. The work extended his ongoing Punks in Ibiza project, taking imagery associated with digital collecting and giving it a physical presence on the club façade.

Barcelona artist El Pez joined Masnah during the process through their longstanding friendship, adding his smiling character running with vinyl records as an imagined DJ hurrying to a set.

The new works joined 10-metre-high murals by PichiAvo and .EPOD already installed at Hï Ibiza. At [UNVRS], Vhils used his subtractive carving technique to create a 68-square-metre relief directly in the façade, connecting identity and collective memory with the material surface of the building.

Connect Art With Music and Technology

Friday’s discussions brought artists, musicians and cultural figures together around questions that already ran through the exhibitions.

Tinie Tempah, Indira Paganotto, ARTCORE co-founder Alex Avanzato and Sam Mooney discussed music, fashion, visual art and creative communities during The Creative Frequency. Tempah also spoke about his forthcoming album The Night’s Not Dead and his collaboration with David King Reuben on the cover artwork.

Elsewhere, Artur Gadzhiev, Omar Karim and Lorenzo Masnah discussed AI filmmaking, rave culture and digital archives during World Builders. Coco Dávez, Olivia Steele and Karimah Hassan explored memory, language, colour and creative process during Women Shaping Culture.

Reimagining the Museum brought Ulrich Schrauth, Pascal Sender and Michael Burgess together to consider audience participation and access beyond conventional cultural institutions. Ian Davenport and Mark Dale closed the discussions with Masters of Modern Art, including their work on animated pieces and a forthcoming Oxford Street presentation.

The evening then shifted into CamelPhat Presents Summer of Love at Hï Ibiza. ANTS followed at Ushuaïa Ibiza on Saturday, while Carl Cox’s Disco Special closed the weekend at [UNVRS] on Sunday.

Nazareno Biondo Adds MORNING STAR to [UNVRS]

The final day introduced one of the weekend’s most elaborate new commissions. W1 Curates presented Nazareno Biondo’s MORNING STAR for Liquides Imaginaires beneath the Tree of Life inside The Dome at [UNVRS].

Deep-blue and ultraviolet light altered the appearance of the marble sculpture during the presentation, creating an environment inspired by the final moments before dawn. The work accompanied a preview of Liquides Imaginaires’ forthcoming Morning Star fragrance by perfumer Louise Turner.

The fragrance draws from the story of Eosphoros and Hesperos, celestial brothers associated with dawn and twilight. Their imagined reunion informed the light, scent and sculpture used during the presentation.

Biondo already has a strong presence within Culture Collective’s Ibiza exhibitions. His life-size Fiat 500 and Vespa sculptures, both carved from Carrara marble, appear at Hï Ibiza. MORNING STAR joined work by Hajime Sorayama and Anthony James at [UNVRS], while Domingo Zapata contributed a panda sculpture specifically for Sunday’s event.

The First Sales From the Ibiza Exhibition

The second edition also produced Culture Collective’s first confirmed sales from the wider Ibiza exhibition.

Collectors acquired Biondo’s solid-marble Vespa and Anthony James’s Dodecahedron light sculpture for undisclosed sums.

Representatives from Gagosian, Tate Modern and Timberland joined collectors, curators, specialist media and guests who travelled from Asia, the Americas and Europe.

Ibiza Leads Into Frieze London

The weekend also set up W1 Curates’ next chapter in London.

Craig-Martin’s Music will travel from Hï Ibiza to W1 Curates on Oxford Street during Frieze London in October. Craig-Martin and Gagosian will take part in a panel on Thursday, 15 October, followed by a closing party with the artist and The Night League on Friday, 16 October.

W1 Curates also announced an October launch event for Tinie Tempah’s The Night’s Not Dead, together with an exhibition of David King Reuben’s album-cover artwork. The London event extends a collaboration discussed publicly in Ibiza during The Creative Frequency.

W1 Curates operates from three storeys of FLANNELS on Oxford Street, including an immersive basement gallery, and has previously shown Tracey Emin, Jeff Koons and KAWS. The Night League contributes a different network through Hï Ibiza, Ushuaïa Ibiza, [UNVRS], Ushuaïa Dubai Harbour Experience and ANTS.

According to the organisers, their combined cultural network in London and Ibiza reaches over 182.5 million visitors each year. That reach gives Culture Collective access to audiences far outside the usual gallery circuit and explains much of the thinking behind the project.

The indoor Ibiza exhibitions continue through October, while exterior works remain in public view until May 2027. Culture Collective held two Ibiza editions in 2026, and the organisers have confirmed its return to the island in 2027.
