My personal take on the campaign is that it is HIDEOUS!

The editing of the group selection of photos has seriously underminded any creditibility going for the images! The mish mash of models, trying to show the vibrance and exuberant style that D&G; portrays, shows the lack of atmosphere and how exceptionally dull the environment is!

The models all seem in their own worlds, most of them cant pose, and mostly all show a like of lust for the job, it shows in their lifeless eyes and amateur posing. It would have been so much better if they had invested less money into WHOSE WHO boooking, and come up with less known girls and boys who actually had an interest and drive for it. The girls in it all have a mono style, I don’t understand why they just didnt use the one girl(THe darker haired girl who is by FAR the best at her job), and used her for it all, it probably would have sold more as a concept! hehe… it would have cost them less too! haha
(HOW dull is the girl whose got her hands up in one of them, she loooks like a corspe, and the boy who has his hands up in the same photo made me wince in embarassment for him)

I just think the image itself relies far more on the clashing selection of outfits and how exceptionally busy the images are than the ability to capture the viewer through the ferocity of a good model! The models dont have any connection within the images, as they have all been edited onto the ONE background… i think this also shows in the picture…no communication, no integration! The prints would be amazing if half the people were taken out and the models actually introduced themselves!

meh, how old fashioned is that though, everything can be done through photoshop!!

Where did the passion go in this industry?? Of all people I believed Mario had it!!

Ahhh anyway i love Mario’s Work, i just think this shocked me, as only an amateur i really dont know what im talking about much too! anyway i just wanted to hear everyones views, it made me annoyed when I caught my work RAVING about how amazing they are! Just because the name ‘Mario Testino’ associates itself with it, does NOT in no way give automatic credibility! Which unfortunately in the fashion industry, the name is everything!

i think you said too much about this campaign.

i do think that its beautiful – it portrays the selfish world we are sometimes in when we are in a party – people in the party dont talk when the house is jumpin! do you? i mean you might be one of those who just sit in the corner and talk. maybe thats why you are looking at this photo regretting thinking ur idea could have been better.

im an amateur and as one – were not suppose to talk like we *ALREADY* know what we are talking about.

    okay?

theres a diff between an artist and a critic.

    you are a critic.
