Elbphilarmonie by Herzog & de Meuron scheduled to open in 2010. will dominate the long forgotten waterfront of Hamburg, coexisting with development of HafenCity the most massive ongoing urban construction in Europe. With HafenCity’s completion in 2020 the district will increase the size of the city center by 40 percent. Crown jewel of the project is Elbphilharmonie shot for The Elbe Philharmonic Hall, this 1.3 million sf development, worth over $313 million, will also host a luxury hotel, residential apartments, wellness area, conference center, the Klingendes Museum, North German Radio, restaurants, night clubs and more.
