The Spring 2024 Nike x Jacquemus collaboration is a continuation of the unique partnership between the two brands, a relationship that has consistently celebrated the intersection of athleticism, fashion, and personal expression. This latest collection is no exception, embodying the belief that sport is not merely about the performance, but it is also an expansion of style and self.

Simon Porte Jacquemus, the visionary behind his namesake brand, has always seen sport and style as interwoven rather than separate entities. His initial collaboration with Nike in the summer of 2022 seamlessly blended sophisticated silhouettes with athletic functionality, drawing inspiration from vintage ACG and ’90s Nike campaigns. The collaborations that followed, including the 2023 J Force 1—a nod to the iconic Air Force 1 known for its crossover appeal between performance and style—underscored this blend of artistry and athleticism, proving that fashion can thrive in both galleries and the grit of the everyday.

The Spring 2024 collection dives deeper into this ethos, weaving themes of femininity, authenticity, connection with nature, performance, and speed into its fabric. The lineup includes six women’s apparel pieces, a unisex tee, hoodie, and sweatpants adorned with laser-cut Swoosh patterns, and a premium brown nubuck version of the J Force 1. However, the highlight of the collection is Le Swoosh Bag, marking the first foray of Nike’s iconic Swoosh into handbag design and the first accessory from the Nike x Jacquemus collaboration. Simon Porte Jacquemus’ fascination with the Swoosh—aiming to encapsulate its minimalist essence and timeless appeal in a statement accessory—showcases his desire to push the boundaries of design and utility.

The campaign for the Spring 2024 collection is graced by Sha’Carri Richardson, a track and field world champion and Olympic hopeful, whose style, speed, and personal journey resonate with the collection’s core themes. Richardson, celebrated for her prowess on the track as well as her unique and expressive fashion sense, embodies the spirit of the collection, serving as both muse and emblem of the modern athlete who embraces self-expression without compromise.

Sha’Carri’s involvement in the campaign highlights the collection’s celebration of individuality, with her stating, “Fashion is so personal and I definitely use it to express myself — it can show how you feel, your mood, your creativity. From the colors you wear to the risks you take, fashion can be an outlet to show the world a little bit of who you are. And that’s why I’m inspired by Simon’s collection; the pieces are edgy and elegant at the same time and it inspires me to keep showing up as I am, while hopefully inspiring others to do the same.” This sentiment aligns perfectly with Jacquemus’ admiration for Richardson’s fierce individuality and exceptional talent, which spurred his desire to collaborate with her.

Launching on February 26th on jacquemus.com and globally across select Nike retail locations on March 5th, the Spring 2024 Nike x Jacquemus collection stands as a bold declaration of the power of sport, style, and self-expression. With Le Swoosh bag available exclusively on jacquemus.com, this collection not only continues the legacy of the Nike x Jacquemus partnership but also sets a new benchmark for what it means to be a contemporary athlete in the world of fashion.
