
The 18th edition of Beldocs International Documentary Film Festival is set to take place from May 21 to 27, 2025, across ten venues in Belgrade, Serbia. This year’s festival will showcase 84 documentaries, including 10 world premieres, 51 regional premieres, and 22 Serbian premieres.

The festival will open with the documentary Restitution, or the Dream and Reality of the Old Guard by renowned director Želimir Žilnik. The film follows elderly musician Stevan Arsin as he returns to Serbia after six decades in Germany to finalize the restitution of his family estate, facing family tensions, legal complications, and bureaucratic struggles.
The Serbian Competition Program will feature 12 films by emerging and mid-career directors, showcasing a diversity of themes and styles that reflect contemporary social realities. Notable entries include Biang Biang Express by Nikola Stojanović, I Used to Be an Artist by Ema Teokarević, and Black Ljubivoje by Predrag Velinović.

The International Competition will present eight films offering fresh global perspectives on various subjects. Highlights include Fakir by Roman Ďuriš, Frida TV by Léa Lanoë, and Collective Monologue by Jessica Sarah Rinland.
In addition to film screenings, Beldocs will host Industry Days from May 21 to 25, featuring workshops, masterclasses, pitching sessions, and project development initiatives. The Beldocs Pitching Forum will include 20 creative teams from across the region, joined by international producers, programmers, and decision-makers.
