Moncler has teamed up with Donald Glover for a new Genius collaboration that reimagines outdoor wear with a poetic, purpose-driven edge. Titled Moncler x Gilga Farm, the debut collection was unveiled at an exclusive preview held at Moncler’s Rodeo Drive boutique in Los Angeles, ahead of its global release on June 18th. DSCENE was invited to experience the immersive presentation firsthand, with Keyr Castro capturing the event exclusively for our magazine.

Upon arrival, guests stepped into a sun-drenched, citrus-scented world brought to life with orange trees, curated soundscapes by Gilga Radio, and tactile references to the collection’s conceptual roots in Glover’s Ojai-based Gilga Farm. The mood was laid-back but charged with creative intent, echoing Glover’s own multifaceted practice as a musician, director, and storyteller. The collection, which Moncler describes as “a world of usefulness,” fuses the brand’s alpine technical expertise with Gilga’s grounded, summer-in-California perspective.

Drawing on Moncler’s mountain heritage and the organic ethos of Gilga Farm, the collection features soft yet functional pieces designed for movement, rest, and creativity. Quilted down jackets transform into sleeping bags, windbreakers come in lightweight ripstop, and heavy suede outerwear arrives in sun-faded tones. The palette, muted oranges, sky blues, washed-out pinks, calls back to the golden-hour landscapes of Southern California. Gardening hats, trail sandals, and subtly humorous graphic patches lend each look a grounded versatility.

The orange fruit, central to Gilga’s identity, finds its way into the very fabric of the collaboration, both figuratively and literally. Orange fiber is woven into select textiles, and the motif appears throughout in branding details, hues, and iconography. Moncler’s signature comic-style Monduck mascot is reinterpreted as a farmer, a nod to Glover’s focus on utility and storytelling through symbolic, animated visuals.

“The sleeping bag is one of the first products Moncler ever made,” Glover explains, “which inspired our sleeping bag jacket, but also led to a collection of summer fits grounded in real value.” His guiding philosophy, “The world revolves around your usefulness,”anchors the collection in a clear sense of purpose.
The campaign, fittingly titled Goodnight Gilga. Morning Moncler!, echoes the collaborative spirit of the project. In a short animated film, a cartoon version of Glover falls asleep at Gilga Farm and awakens in a surreal alpine dreamscape, merging two seemingly disparate settings into a seamless vision of rest, function, and imagination.

The Rodeo Drive preview event marked the first time the collection was available for purchase in the U.S., ahead of the global release. Guests moved through the space between citrus groves and curated playlists, wearing looks from the collection in real time, an experience that blurred the lines between campaign, showroom, and lived narrative.

Moncler x Gilga Farm designed by Donald Glover is now available at select Moncler boutiques and online at moncler.com. From cartoon dreams to practical silhouettes, the collection proposes a new kind of outdoor wear, rooted in usefulness, reframed by imagination.
