Duran Lantink has unveiled his Fall Winter 2025 campaign, Duranimal, directly following his Paris showcase that stirred debate among audiences. The new release continues his exploration of “bad taste,” a theme that dominated the runway, while reviving the controversial prosthetic breasts that became an instant talking point.
Juergen Teller photographs the campaign, joined by stylist Jodie Barnes, with Alex Consani and Leon Dame as central figures. The images unfold in natural environments and submerged spaces, reinforcing the sense of a staged wilderness. According to the brand, Duranimal “interrogates the boundaries between the human and the animal, artifice and instinct, beauty and spectacle.”

The FW25 runway had already set the tone for this campaign. Lantink moved away from his familiar bubble shapes and swollen silhouettes, choosing tapered lines instead. He turned his energy toward layering prints, snake, leopard, zebra, camouflage, and tartan, on the same stage. This maximalist chaos defined the show and prepared the ground for the campaign’s confrontational staging.

Teller’s lens takes the viewer to a zoo, where Consani and Dame embody Lantink’s charged characters. Consani peers into a penguin tank in head-to-toe zebra paint, dressed in little more than a thong and thigh-high boots. Dame appears in scenes that test the thin line between fashion and performance art.

This daring approach has fueled Lantink’s rapid rise. His ability to provoke through humor, exaggeration, and artifice led to his appointment as Creative Director of Jean Paul Gaultier in April 2025. With his first collection for the French house set to debut in a matter of weeks, Duranimal feels like both a continuation and a preview.
