J.Crew has unveiled a new campaign that brings its Rollneck™ sweater back into focus. First designed in 1988, the sweater has become an icon of the brand and a fixture in American wardrobes for nearly four decades. This season, the company introduces a campaign that honors the past while presenting the sweater through a new cast of talent from film, TV, and music.

The campaign gathers Benito Skinner, Dominic Sessa, Lukita Maxwell, Maggie Rogers, Molly Gordon, Rome Flynn, and Taylour Paige-Angulo. Together, they present a cross-section of American creativity, chosen for their ability to interpret personal style through a classic garment. Their inclusion reflects J.Crew’s goal of linking the Rollneck with fresh perspectives while recognizing its history as a signature design.

Julia Collier, Chief Marketing Officer at J.Crew, explained that the Rollneck remains central to the brand’s story. She described it as a piece that carries classic American style while allowing countless ways to wear and style it. The company selected this cast of characters to represent various sides of its identity: classic, prep, country, and collegiate, while also acknowledging how those ideas continue to evolve for a new generation.

The Rollneck sweater itself keeps the features that made it an icon. Made of 100% cotton, it carries a distinctive rolled neckline and a relaxed fit that has given it longevity across decades. J.Crew designed it as a piece that customers return to season after season. This fall, the sweater arrives in 27 colors and patterns across men’s, women’s, and crewcuts fits. Accessories also feature in the assortment, reinforcing the Rollneck as part of a broader offering.

The Rollneck has stood as a symbol of ease and character for decades. With this latest campaign, J.Crew places it in the hands of a new cast of cultural figures who project optimism and creativity. The sweater remains true to its original design yet finds new life through those who wear it. For J.Crew, the Rollneck continues to demonstrate why certain pieces remain part of wardrobes for years while adapting to the personality of each new season.

As the Rollneck returns this fall, it does so with energy drawn from both past and present. For J.Crew, the sweater is not only a link to its origins but also a way to speak to current audiences. Through color, fit, and the influence of new voices, the Rollneck continues to define a place within American style.
