Fashion house Chanel has announced Nicole Kidman as its new House Ambassador. The actor joined guests at the Grand Palais in Paris yesterday, where Matthieu Blazy presented his first collection for the house with the Spring Summer 2026 show.
Kidman’s career has made her one of cinema’s most acclaimed figures. She has earned an Academy Award and six Golden Globes, while also building a presence in theatre and television. Beyond her acting work, she serves as a UN Women Goodwill Ambassador, advocating for women’s rights worldwide. In 2017, she pledged to work with female directors every 18 months, a promise she has surpassed through consistent collaboration.
Her connection to Chanel began in 2004 with the N°5 fragrance campaign directed by Baz Luhrmann. Since then, she has appeared on countless red carpets in Chanel, maintaining a close link with the house. Speaking about her new role, Kidman said: “I am thrilled to be joining Chanel as it begins its new chapter with Matthieu at the helm. As someone who has such an appreciation for Haute Couture, I am so looking forward to witnessing Matthieu’s vision for the oldest Haute Couture House still in operation and having the opportunity to wear what I know will be gorgeous creations. Chanel has always been ahead of the curve, shining a smart and gracious light on women, and I am sure Matthieu will be no exception, just like Karl did in his time.”
Blazy emphasized her long-standing presence in Chanel’s narrative: “From the unforgettable Baz Luhrmann film to her countless red carpet looks, Nicole has always been part of the history of the House. Free and ever-changing, she is for me the embodiment of the Chanel woman. I know we also share a genuine passion for craft and savoir-faire. Having worked with Nicole in the past and now reuniting with her at Chanel is a dream come true and couldn’t make me happier.”
Nicole Kidman’s appointment marks the continuation of her relationship with Chanel, one that now moves into an official capacity as Blazy begins his tenure with the house. Her presence at the Spring Summer 2026 show in Paris signaled the start of this new chapter together.
