Ray-Ban introduces a new metal eyewear collection designed by A$AP Rocky, marking one year since the multi-hyphenate artist was appointed the brand’s first creative director. The release includes both sun and optical frames and introduces Rocky’s first optical designs for Ray-Ban. The collection reflects his approach to eyewear through reinterpretation of established silhouettes, with metal construction, wire frames, and rimless forms defining the direction.
EYEWEAR
Silhouettes draw reference from eyewear styles associated with previous decades while introducing updated proportions and detailing. Oval frames appear in both optical and sun variations, reflecting rounded contours that emphasize metal structure. Rectangular frames introduce narrower proportions and defined lines. Rimless constructions appear throughout the collection, allowing lenses and metal bridges to shape the overall form. These designs reinforce Ray-Ban’s established material language while introducing new proportions under Rocky’s creative direction.

The optical range introduces multiple frame types. The RX3927V presents a structured metal frame that references earlier eyewear forms while introducing sharper definition. The RX3931V introduces an oval optical silhouette shaped through thin metal construction. The rimless RX3929V presents an oval optical frame defined through exposed metal supports and lens form. The RX3928V introduces a rectangular rimless optical model with minimal framing elements that emphasize lens geometry.

Sun frames extend these concepts through additional variation. The RB3927 introduces a narrow rectangular metal frame defined through sharp angles. The RB3931 introduces an oval metal sun frame with rounded structure. Rimless sun frames appear through the RB3929 and RB3928, both incorporating thicker lenses that define the silhouette. These models reinforce the collection’s focus on minimal structure and exposed metal detailing.

An exclusive wraparound model the RB3930 introduces a curved silhouette shaped through a narrow gold wire frame. Mirror lenses and a double bridge define the design. This model will appear only in selected stores, reinforcing its limited availability within the collection.

Ray-Ban launched the collection through a campaign film featuring A$AP Rocky and Nas. The film takes place inside a New York diner, introducing a visual setting that reflects Rocky’s creative perspective. The campaign connects the eyewear designs with cultural reference points associated with music and urban environments. Rocky and Nas appear together throughout the film, reinforcing the connection between Ray-Ban eyewear and cultural production.
