Adidas Originals and Avirex return with the second installment of their collaboration, introducing a new black colorway of the Avirex Superstar. The release connects the adidas Superstar’s basketball origins with Avirex’s long-standing presence in New York streetwear, bringing both references into a single, updated execution.

The Superstar carries its established identity while incorporating Avirex’s approach to leather and detailing. The design builds on the silhouette’s association with basketball, while the material treatment shifts its appearance toward a more street-focused direction. The result reflects a shared history between sport and streetwear, rooted in New York City and carried forward through this collaboration.

The Spring 2026 campaign places the release within a New York context, featuring Ian Jackson, a Bronx native, St. John’s guard, and adidas NIL athlete, alongside NYC-based DJ Nyla Symone. The campaign draws from the connection between basketball culture and street style, presenting the Superstar within an environment where both influences exist side by side.

adidas and Avirex extend the release through a physical activation in New York. The brands will host a pop-up event on Saturday, March 21 at the newly opened adidas Store in Soho, located at 135 Spring Street. The event invites the community to engage directly with the release, offering access to the sneaker during the opening weekend of the NCAA Men’s Division I Basketball Tournament.
The Avirex Superstar enters the market at a retail price of $180. The release will take place on Saturday, March 21, available exclusively through the CONFIRMED app and at the adidas Store in Soho. This distribution keeps the focus on a limited and location-driven rollout, reinforcing the connection between the product and its New York setting.

Through this second installment, adidas Originals and Avirex continue to build on a shared language shaped by basketball and streetwear. The black colorway introduces a new chapter for the collaboration, linking the Superstar’s origins with Avirex’s influence in New York and presenting a product grounded in both references.
