The Air Jordan 13 Retro Flint returns on August 1, 2026, with its Navy, Flint Grey, White and University Blue color scheme. First introduced in 1998, the colorway belongs to the silhouette Michael Jordan wore during the 1997–98 season, which concluded with his sixth NBA championship. The release brings that connection back through the materials and design details associated with the original model.

Leather, synthetic leather and textile sections form the upper. The quilted overlay gives the design its recognizable texture, and the Navy and Flint Grey palette establishes the main color arrangement. The sculpted midsole and holographic eye retain two defining elements from Tinker Hatfield’s original design.
Hatfield created the Air Jordan 13 around Michael Jordan’s “Black Cat” nickname. Nike connected the shoe with a panther through its holographic eye and paw shaped outsole. The rounded sections underfoot reflect the form of a panther’s paw, bringing the animal reference into the shoe’s construction.
The current Flint edition uses Air Zoom cushioning to support a responsive sensation as the foot leaves the ground. A foam midsole shapes the lower profile, and a rubber outsole completes the construction. Nike originally equipped the Air Jordan 13 with Zoom Air and a carbon fiber plate as part of Hatfield’s focus on feline agility.
The Flint colorway debuted in 1998 and returned in 2005, 2010 and 2020. The 2005 edition closely followed the original design, while the 2010 release omitted its 3M reflective detailing. Jordan Brand restored that feature in 2020. The August 2026 release marks the fourth retro edition of the Flint colorway.
Nike will release the adult Air Jordan 13 Retro “Flint” on August 1, 2026, for $215. The adult pair carries style code IW3808-400. Big kids’ pairs cost $165, little kids’ pairs cost $105 and toddler pairs cost $90.
