Belgrade among the first stops for Charli xcx’s new era: Album “Music, Fashion, Film” unveiled with exclusive listening party. Charli xcx’s highly anticipated new album “Music, Fashion, Film”, one of the year’s most expected pop releases, officially launched today via Atlantic/Warner Music (Mascom). To mark the album’s arrival, Serbian fans had the chance to be among the first to hear the complete record at an exclusive listening event in Belgrade.

Released officially on July 24 via Atlantic/Warner Music (Mascom), “Music, Fashion, Film” marks a bold new creative chapter for one of contemporary pop’s most influential artists. The album weaves together music, fashion, and visual culture, solidifying Charli xcx’s position as an artist who continually pushes the boundaries of modern pop expression.

The listening party brought together devoted fans who were among the first in the region to experience the complete new release and discover the fresh direction Charli is pursuing in her artistic evolution.

Album art featuring Marc Jacobs, Martin Scorsese and John Cale

A Creative Turning Point

“Music, Fashion, Film” represents a shift following the global success of her previous album “Brat.” In an interview with Rolling Stone, Charli xcx spoke about the creative process leading to the new record. “I was really, truly ready to step back, take a break, and stop making music. I felt creatively drained and had no inspiration to write. And then inspiration suddenly arrived,” she explained.

The album contains 11 tracks: “Rock Music,” “SS26,” “Card Declined,” “Camera,” “2007,” “I’m Afraid,” “Yeah,” “Wink Wink,” “Persona,” “Magic Metal Montana,” and “No One Lasts Forever.”

Visual Storytelling Across Three Disciplines

The album cover has drawn particular attention for its symbolic connection of the three disciplines in its title. The artwork features three legendary figures, John Cale representing music, Marc Jacobs as a fashion icon, and Martin Scorsese symbolizing cinema. One of the campaign’s standout moments is the music video for “Camera,” featuring legendary French actor Vincent Cassel. The album also includes a collaboration with renowned Canadian filmmaker and screenwriter David Cronenberg, who appears on the closing track “No One Lasts Forever.”

Critics have already recognized Charli xcx’s new artistic direction. The Guardian describes the album as a “meta-masterpiece about identity instability,” noting that she successfully pivots after the “Brat” era, exploring a guitar-driven sound while retaining her distinctive vocal signature.

Tour Dates and Live Performances

Charli xcx will support “Music, Fashion, Film” through an extensive tour featuring performances at Lollapalooza, Outside Lands, Reading, and Leeds, as well as headline dates at major venues including Brooklyn’s Barclays Center and the Kia Forum in Los Angeles. “I want to live my life exactly how I want to, because I don’t have the chance to live it again,” Charli stated, articulating her current creative approach.

Moving fluidly between experimental and mainstream pop, she has built a career on consistently pushing boundaries, pursuing innovative collaborations, and crafting a distinctive visual identity. She is the recipient of numerous accolades, including BRIT and Grammy awards, cementing her position as one of contemporary pop culture’s most vital voices.
