Audi introduced the Nuvolari to North America during Monterey Car Week, bringing its new supercar to the United States only 17 days after the world premiere of the Audi Q9 in New York City. The California appearance places two of Audi’s newest vehicles in front of American audiences within the same month and signals the growing role of the U.S. within the company’s current direction.

Monterey gave the Nuvolari a setting that extended far beyond a conventional auto presentation. The annual gathering brings collector cars, new luxury models, industry figures and enthusiasts to the Monterey Peninsula, creating one of the most visible automotive events of the year.

Audi presented the Nuvolari at The Quail and on the Concept Lawn at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. The company also organized private events for collectors and prospective customers, using the week to meet directly with media, industry figures and members of the international collector community.
The car then moved from display lawns to the roads surrounding Carmel-by-the-Sea. Its California drive marked the first time the Nuvolari had appeared on American roads. Audi previously gave the model its track debut during the 2026 Monaco Grand Prix, placing the supercar in two very different environments within months of its introduction.

That road appearance offered a closer look at the role Audi has assigned to the Nuvolari. The company positions the car as a technology and design flagship connected to the brand’s current renewal. Audi CEO Gernot Döllner describes the Nuvolari and Q9 as two vehicles that translate the company’s strategic direction into new products. Audi developed the Q9 specifically around the requirements of American customers, while the Nuvolari represents a more extreme expression of its engineering and design work.
The Nuvolari also moves Audi into the high-performance supercar segment for the first time. Its hybrid powertrain produces 1,001 PS, while its top speed exceeds 350 km/h, making it the fastest and most powerful production Audi to date.

Audi developed a new Space Frame for the car and paired it with a carbon exterior. The company also draws on its motorsport experience and aerodynamic development for the project. Production will remain limited to 499 examples worldwide, giving the model a deliberately restricted presence once deliveries begin.
Audi of America President Vito Paladino described Monterey Car Week as an important premium automotive platform for introducing the car in the United States. For Audi, the event offered access to an audience already closely connected to rare vehicles, performance engineering and collector culture.

Customer interest has started ahead of the formal sales period. Audi plans to begin official European presales during the fourth quarter of 2026, while the company says recent public appearances have already generated inquiries from buyers internationally.
The first customer deliveries are scheduled for the first half of 2027. Until then, the Monterey appearance gives the Nuvolari another major public chapter following Monaco and places Audi’s new supercar directly within one of the markets the company considers central to its next phase.
