Brain Dead x Crocs Release Their Footwear Collaboration

The collaboration pairs the casual Echo II with a more technical take on the Trailbreak 2.

Brain Dead and Crocs have released their first footwear collaboration, taking on the Echo II and Trailbreak 2 through two distinct interpretations. First revealed during Paris Fashion Week in June, the project avoids the familiar Classic Clog and instead focuses on a casual slip-on and a more technical outdoor model. Both pairs carry Brain Dead’s preference for irregular graphics, unusual textures and playful details.

SHOES

The Brain Dead x Crocs Echo II keeps the model’s sculptural exoskeleton construction and covers it with a custom organic graphic. Purple, black and deep blue tones move across the upper, giving the molded silhouette a warped, almost liquid appearance. A LiteRide footbed provides cushioning, while an adjustable heel strap adds support. Brain Dead finishes the pair with custom three-dimensional snail Jibbitz charms, including a version that turns the label’s head logo into the snail’s shell.

The Trailbreak 2 moves in a more technical direction. Crocs builds the shoe with a durable ripstop upper, breathable mesh paneling and a water-resistant construction. A rubber outsole provides traction, while an EVA toe cap adds protection. The design also includes a LiteRide cushioned footbed, integrated lacing and a heel tab intended to make the shoe easier to put on and remove.

Brain Dead gives the Trailbreak 2 a green marbled treatment across its exterior structure. The upper combines deep green mesh with translucent overlays, while bright blue flecks break up the darker tones around the sole. The model also uses a marbled EVA midsole with swirling graphic effects, adding another organic element to a silhouette designed for outdoor use.

Across both shoes, Brain Dead draws from natural surfaces and irregular patterns rather than clean geometric graphics. References connected to wet stone, forest floors, organic textures and moonlit environments inform the collection’s visual direction. Those ideas appear differently across each silhouette: the Echo II leans toward psychedelic color and sculptural ornament, while the Trailbreak 2 uses darker greens, layered materials and functional construction.
