Naomi Osaka arrived at the US Open in a custom KidSuper look created by designer Colm Dillane in close collaboration with stylist Law Roach. The outfit developed from a clear reference point: Allen Iverson’s early-2000s NBA tunnel style, which Roach used as the starting direction for Osaka’s tournament wardrobe.

SPORT

Roach brought that reference to Dillane, who interpreted it through KidSuper’s visual language and adapted it for tennis. Cecilia Lizarraga, KidSuper’s couturiere, worked on the custom execution, helping bring the look from concept to finished piece.

The main garment comes from KidSuper’s Fall Winter 2026 runway collection. Dillane reworked the original coat specifically for Osaka and added an exaggerated train, giving the piece a stronger sense of scale as she entered the tournament setting. The customization keeps the runway design as its foundation while reshaping it around Osaka and the occasion.

A custom headband completes the look. It features original KidSuper artwork and includes a playful reinterpretation of the NBA logo, adjusted for tennis and the US Open. That detail keeps the basketball reference visible while placing it inside Osaka’s own sporting context.

The styling centers on the idea of the athlete entrance. Roach looked to Iverson’s tunnel style as a model for how clothing can shape the moment before competition, then translated that idea into tennis through Osaka’s arrival at the US Open. Dillane built the fashion response through proportion, graphics and custom design.

The coat’s extended train creates the strongest visual element. It takes the familiar form of a runway outerwear piece and pushes it toward a more dramatic entrance. The headband adds another point of recognition through its graphic treatment, connecting basketball and tennis through one concise visual cue.

The Iverson reference places the look within a specific period of athlete style. Roach focused on the early 2000s, when Iverson’s tunnel appearances became a major part of how players presented themselves before games. The final look brings fashion and sport into one clear frame, using Iverson’s influence as the foundation and Osaka’s presence at the US Open as the setting.
