Freshen up
Changing your external doors can be a subtle yet effective way of making changes to your house which are more dramatic than a fresh lick of paint, and best for replacing a door that has seen its last day. Don’t underestimate the power of a well-made composite door to make the exterior of your house look smart on the street, while those with stained glass panels can be an elegant way to introduce colour into a neglected hallway. Save on space
Sliding doors are a great way to maximise space previously taken up by swinging doors in small bedrooms such as bedrooms or bathrooms, and can be customised further to meet your needs, from installing a lock to adding hooks to store towels or coats to save on storage in other parts of the room. For rooms that don’t require as much privacy, consider replacing doors with archways, to connect two rooms such as kitchens, living rooms, and dining rooms. Archways maintain the sense of the room while creating a feel of openness.
Show off a beautiful view
If you are considering a feature wall but want to make the most of natural light, or even show off a beautiful view, french doors are an absolute must. By essentially replacing a wall with a window, you can add impact as well as light, and is best used in summer weather when you want easy access to the garden, or when entertaining. If an extension or conservatory is too big a project, why not create more space in a living room or front room by installing a bay window? Building a window seat, adding in a desk as a small home office, or even placing a dining table in the recess are all ways to really harness the extra space created by a bay window, and allow for you show off a beautiful garden or city view.
