Studiocanal announced the upcoming release of the action thriller “Something In The Water,” a film that combines heart-stopping action sequences with deep emotional narratives, set against the picturesque yet perilous backdrop of the Caribbean. Scheduled to hit UK cinemas on 5 July 2024, this film promises to deliver a riveting cinematic experience that explores the resilience of human spirit and the complexities of past relationships rekindled under extraordinary circumstances.

“Something In The Water” follows the story of Meg, portrayed by Hiftu Quasem, known for her role in “Ten Percent,” who embarks on what seems to be a joyous occasion – the wedding of her old friend Lizzie, played by Lauren Lyle of “Outlander” fame. Alongside a group of close-knit friends including Cam (Nicole Rieko Setsuko from “Eavesdropping“), Ruth (Ellouise Shakespeare-Hart of “One Four Three“), and Kayla (Natalie Mitson from “The Larkins“), Meg’s former partner, the celebration is set in the breathtaking locale of the Caribbean. However, the idyllic setting quickly turns into a nightmarish struggle for survival, transforming the joyous occasion into an unforgettable ordeal that tests the bonds of friendship and love.

The film is brought to life under the creative vision of producer Julie Baines and writer Cat Clarke, who together tell a tale that is as much about the endurance and strength found in unity as it is about the individual battles faced by each character. “Something In The Water” challenges its protagonists in unforeseen ways, forcing them to confront their fears, reevaluate their relationships, and fight tooth and nail to survive.

Studiocanal unveiled trailer that offers a glimpse into the action-packed and emotionally charged journey that awaits audiences. Accompanied by a poster, featuring tagline “Fear Finds New Depths.”

“Something In The Water” is a story of survival, friendship, and the indomitable human spirit. It examines how extreme situations reveal the core of who we are and what we are capable of when pushed to our limits.
