Jordan Brand prepares the Air Jordan 12 Retro Bucks for a September 12 release, dressing Tinker Hatfield’s 1996 design in Summit White, Gorge Green and Fierce Purple. The colorway takes inspiration from early-2000s player exclusives and uses the signature colors of Milwaukee’s NBA franchise.

Summit White leather forms the upper, where radiating stitch lines retain one of the Air Jordan 12’s defining visual features. Nike connects the stitched construction to the sunrise-inspired design of the original model. Gorge Green lizard-textured overlays wrap the lower portion of the sneaker, creating a clear division between the white leather and green sections.
Bluish-purple iridescent finishes introduce another element to the color scheme. Molded eyelets carry the reflective treatment, while a matching lateral panel features the “Jumpman” wordmark. The finish shifts between green and purple tones depending on the angle. Jumpman branding also appears on the tongue and heel tab, completing the exterior details.
The Air Jordan 12 traces back to Michael Jordan’s 1996-97 season, when Tinker Hatfield introduced the silhouette as Jordan’s latest signature sneaker. The model marked the first use of Air Zoom cushioning within the Air Jordan signature line. Its leather construction and radiating stitched panels established a design that Jordan Brand continues to use three decades later.
The “Bucks” edition retains that technical foundation. A lightweight Phylon midsole houses full-length Zoom Air cushioning, providing responsive support underfoot. The durable rubber outsole incorporates an exposed carbon-fiber shank plate, which supplies torsional rigidity and assists energy return. These components preserve the performance structure of the Air Jordan 12 beneath the updated color treatment.
Nike officially lists the shoe under the name Air Jordan 12 Retro Idols Become Rivals. The sneaker will be released on September 12, 2026, for $215. Nike will also offer the sneaker in full family sizing. Big Kids’ pairs cost $155, Little Kids’ pairs $95, and Toddler pairs $80.
