Designer Steve O Smith presented his Spring Summer 2020 collection, inspired by a stylish party that starts rather early and lasts all through the night, on September 14th, during the ongoing London Fashion Week.
“The party starts rather early, in the garden, with suits in white satin and the ladies in waiting. Benjamin Langford’s roses quickly emerge (on shirts and bags) as the champagne starts to flow. As the party picks up, the colours do too, with frills and drape in candy cotton shirting. All of this is adding to the buzz.
Now the drinks are really pouring freely; the debutantes have spiked the punch. Carriages at midnight. The chaperones have gone home. It’s dark now. The flowers are starting to rot. As the night drags on, the clothes do too. Twisted ruffle dresses clash in fuchsia and purple against lilac ostrich feathers and acid green duchess satins. Feathers and Leathers. Feathers and Leathers.
It’s darker now. Apparently a real life Princess is coming. This season, SOS also collaborates with New York based jewellery designer Anna Pierce, who has replaced the debutantes silver spoons with coloured forks and raw pearls.“
