Gap Welcomes Zac Posen as New Creative Visionary

Zac Posen joins Gap Inc. as creative force behind brand revitalization.

Gap Inc. has proudly announced the appointment of Zac Posen as Executive Vice President and Creative Director of Gap Inc., as well as Chief Creative Officer of Old Navy. This strategic hire, effective immediately, places Posen at the heart of the company’s creative vision, based out of San Francisco.

Zac Posen, a luminary in American fashion, brings over two decades of acclaimed design and entrepreneurial spirit to the table. Renowned for his technical prowess and commitment to body positivity, Posen’s illustrious career spans haute couture, ready-to-wear, accessory lines, and even costume design. His appointment marks a pivotal chapter in Gap Inc.’s journey, promising to infuse its portfolio with a renewed sense of creativity and dynamism.

Richard Dickson, President and CEO of Gap Inc., expressed his enthusiasm about Posen’s arrival, noting:

I’m thrilled to welcome Zac Posen, one of America’s most celebrated designers, at the onset of an exciting new chapter for Gap Inc. His technical expertise and cultural clarity have consistently evolved American fashion, making him a great fit for the company as we ignite a new culture of creativity across the portfolio and reinvigorate our storied brands.

As Chief Creative Officer of Old Navy, Posen is set to lead the design, merchandising, and marketing efforts for the brand, working closely with Haio Barbeito, President and CEO of Old Navy. Barbeito hailed Posen’s leadership as a transformative force that will redefine Old Navy with a fresh focus on fit, quality, and style, catering to families across the United States.

Posen himself is eager to leverage the vast potential within Old Navy and Gap Inc. at large, aiming to reinvigorate the brands with a mix of exceptional product offerings, engaging experiences, and a vibrant culture of creativity.

Gap Inc. and its brands have shaped American fashion and pop culture for decades and there’s so much potential at Old Navy.  I’m eager to join Gap Inc. now as brand reinvigoration kicks up across the portfolio, rooted in great product, experiences, and a new culture of creativity.

In his role as Creative Director of Gap Inc., Posen will act as a cultural curator and creative ally alongside Dickson, joining an executive leadership team that has recently been strengthened with key appointments, including Eric Chan as Chief Business and Strategy Officer and Amy Thompson as Chief People Officer. This strategic bolstering of the leadership team underscores Gap Inc.’s commitment to operational excellence, brand revitalization, and increased cultural relevance in a new era.

    the most ungodly and stupid match sorry… from kanye west first to zac posen. Then not only did you choose a crazy guy first… (kanye) n ow go to the most boring guy in the americna fashion who continously has not done anything new for decades, all of his businesses fell apart… you are a streetwear brand that lost all its cool. Oh let me think what is the best… go get a boring designer that nobody ever cared about? How about getting a young enthusiastic designer who didn’t get a chance yet and people can relate to? How about that GAP
