For Spring Summer 25, JUZUI presents “Floriferous,” a collection inspired by the beauty and symbolism of flowers, with a particular focus on the Chinese peony. Photographer Katie Borrazzo captured backstage moments at the JUZUI Spring Summer 25 show, exclusively for DSCENE Magazine. Under the creative direction of Taoray Wang, this collection builds on the themes of their previous AW24 collection “Full Bloom,” continuing to explore floral motifs in an innovative and artful manner. Wang’s collaboration with a traditional pleating company from Jiangsu, China, brings the peony to life through special techniques and three-dimensional embroidery.
BACKSTAGE
The collection makes use of luxurious silks that drape elegantly. The peony, symbolizing grace and prosperity, is presented through dynamic floral motifs, with a palette of refined hues. The silhouettes are thoughtfully designed, offering a graceful flow that complements the natural beauty of the female form, while the floral details provide a fresh and artistic touch.
Taoray Wang describes her approach as “Neo-Chinese Fashion,” a way of integrating modern aesthetics with cultural influences from her homeland. She speaks of creating designs that cater to a sophisticated, globally minded woman. Her focus is on crafting clothing that not only reflects the wearer’s poise and optimism but also offers a comfortable and unrestricted experience.
