Claire Danes returns to television in The Beast in Me as Aggie Wiggs, a celebrated novelist whose career collapses after the loss of her young son. Withdrawn and unable to write, she lives quietly, until a new neighbor arrives. Matthew Rhys plays Nile Jarvis, a high-profile real estate mogul whose reputation remains tainted by the unsolved disappearance of his wife. Their proximity sets off a dangerous dynamic: Aggie sees him as the subject for her next book, and Nile sees her attention as a threat. First-look images hint at the show’s tightly wound atmosphere.
Created by Gabe Rotter, the eight-episode series follows Aggie’s growing obsession with uncovering Nile’s past while she navigates her own grief. As she digs deeper, every interaction sharpens the stakes, transforming a quiet street into a stage for manipulation, suspicion, and psychological warfare. Netflix will release all episodes globally on Thursday, November 13, 2025.

Howard Gordon serves as showrunner and executive producer, reuniting with Danes after Homeland. Antonio Campos directs and executive produces, with Daniel Pearle also on the producing team. The executive producer roster includes Claire Danes, Jodie Foster, Caroline Baron, and Conaco’s Conan O’Brien, Jeff Ross, and David Kissinger. 20th Television produces the series for Netflix.

The cast builds a network of personal and professional conflicts around the central duo. Brittany Snow appears as Nina, Nile’s spouse, and Natalie Morales as Shelley, Aggie’s ex-wife. David Lyons plays FBI agent Brian Abbott, with Hettienne Park as Agent Erika Breton. Tim Guinee takes on the role of Wrecking Ball, an imposing figure tied to Nile’s affairs. Jonathan Banks portrays Martin Jarvis, Nile’s father, alongside Julie Ann Emery as Lila Jarvis. Deirdre O’Connell plays Carol McGiddish, Aggie’s literary agent and confidante. Aleyse Shannon appears as Olivia Benitez, a city council member opposing Nile’s development plans. Will Brill, Kate Burton, and Bill Irwin portray the brother and parents of Nile’s missing wife, while Amir Arison plays Frank Breton, Erika’s former husband.

The Beast in Me presents a duel defined by access and control. Aggie builds her case through observation and persistence; Nile relies on influence, intimidation, and the careful management of his image. With its layered characters, tense pacing, and controlled visual style, the series positions Danes and Rhys in a battle where every move carries consequences.
Netflix audiences can watch the full confrontation unfold when The Beast in Me debuts on November 13, 2025.
