Moschino marks the Lunar New Year 2026 with a limited-edition bag created to honor the Year of the Horse. Designed by Creative Director Adrian Appiolaza, the piece takes the form of a sculptural horse, presenting a functional accessory shaped through imagination, precision, and humor. The design draws on attributes traditionally associated with the Chinese zodiac sign of the Horse, including vitality, speed, momentum, and freedom of self-expression.

Crafted entirely from soft nappa leather, the horse silhouette emerges through carefully considered cuts that define form, volume, and movement. The bag opens at the top with a gold metal clasp integrated directly into the silhouette. Beneath the opening sits a shaped leather saddle rendered in a vivid red tone. The color choice references the symbolic importance of red during the Lunar New Year, where it signals prosperity, energy, and renewal.

The horse’s facial features introduce character and expression through detail. Embroidered eyebrows, glossy eyes, and a leather patch tongue animate the surface, giving the bag a sense of personality and charm. An internal metal structure supports the legs of the bag, allowing it to stand upright when placed on a surface.
The horse-shaped bag reflects a playful interpretation of the Horse as a zodiac symbol. Strength and elegance appear through proportion and stance, while motion registers through the forward-leaning posture and defined limbs.

While the bag functions as a tribute to the Year of the Horse, it also operates within Moschino’s broader approach to accessories. The design challenges expectations around shape and utility, proposing an object that invites attention through form.
The limited-edition bag is available globally through Moschino boutiques, website, and select retailers worldwide. Its release positions the piece as a collectible accessory tied to a specific moment. Moschino presents the Lunar New Year 2026 bag as a focused exploration of form, humor, and symbolism, offering an object that exists comfortably between function and visual expression.
