PUMA and French designer Louis Gabriel Nouchi extend their experimental partnership with the PUMA x LGN Mostro Ballet. The pair transforms the bold 1999 hybrid silhouette into a minimalist flat. The collaboration translates the distinct design language of the Mostro into a low-profile slip-on. This new iteration preserves the daring attitude of the original model while altering its physical structure.
SHOES
A studded upper defines the visual character of the shoe. This texture nods to the spiked sole found on the original model. The design choice exudes a punk rock edge. A pointillist texture creates tactile contrast across the surface. The designers applied this detailed finish to two tonal colorways. These elements maintain the aggressive aesthetic of the Mostro despite the reduction in volume.

Functionality guides the construction of the upper. An elastic strap spans the forefoot to secure the foot. This feature delivers an effortless fit that supports the functional roots of the silhouette and prioritizes utility alongside visual updates.

A rubber sole sits underfoot and echoes the aggressive grip pattern of the classic Mostro. This detail grounds the shoe in its sports-inspired DNA. The lineage of the Mostro originally borrowed elements from track-and-field styles. It also drew influence from surfing footwear. The new ballet flat retains these athletic references within its low-profile structure.

PUMA and LGN also focused on accessibility with this release. The laceless slip-on design ensures the wearer can put the shoe on and take it off without difficulty. The PUMA x LGN Mostro Ballet is now available at Louis Gabriel Nouchi’s website and selected PUMA stockists.
