The announcement places McQueen back on the London Fashion Week schedule, reconnecting the house with the city where Lee Alexander McQueen founded the brand in 1992. The Spring Summer 2027 collection will continue McGirr’s study of McQueen codes, with a focus on sharp tailoring and occasionwear, two areas closely tied to the house’s identity.
“London has always been at the heart of McQueen; there’s a uniquely visceral energy to the city that runs throughout the house’s history and continues to inspire everything we do today. Returning to London Fashion Week allows us to deeply engage with that spirit and the creative community that defines both London and this house,” said Seán McGirr, Creative Director of McQueen.

The return also signals a major moment for the British Fashion Council, which welcomes one of British fashion’s most influential houses back to its official schedule. McQueen has long shaped the global perception of London fashion through its mix of technical construction, theatrical force and intense individuality. Its presence in September adds weight to a season already positioned around British creativity and international attention.
Gianfranco D’Attis, CEO of McQueen, described the move as a meaningful moment for the house, noting London’s central role in the brand’s story. He said the return reaffirms McQueen’s relationship with the British Fashion Council and the city’s creative ecosystem while supporting the next phase of the house.

Laura Weir, CEO of the British Fashion Council, also welcomed the announcement, calling McQueen’s return one of her earliest ambitions in the role. “Few have shaped the global fashion landscape with the same force, imagination and cultural impact, and now is the time to welcome the brand back to its London roots,” she said.
Founded in London by Lee Alexander McQueen, the house built its name through an uncompromising vision of British fashion, combining craft, emotion and provocation with a distinct sense of individuality. With McGirr now preparing his first London presentation for the house, the Spring Summer 2027 show will carry both symbolic and creative weight. McQueen’s return to London Fashion Week brings the brand back to the city that shaped its earliest identity, while setting the stage for its next chapter.
