PUMA introduces the ULTRA NITRO 7, its fastest football boot to date and the first football model to use NITROFOAM ELITE. The brand transfers the foam technology from running to football and places it inside the sockliner and footbed. The material compresses under pressure and rebounds immediately, giving players added spring during each push-off and supporting quicker acceleration.

Dominique Gathier, PUMA Vice President of Teamsport, describes the arrival of NITRO technology in football as an important step for the brand. He says the foam delivers greater energy return and faster pace through a boot that targets pure speed. According to Gathier, players will feel the difference as soon as they put on the ULTRA NITRO 7.

PUMA also redesigned the ULTRAWEAVE upper and reduced its weight compared with the previous model. The upper gives players targeted support and a closer feel for the ball during high-speed play. A new speed last shapes the boot around the foot from first wear, creating a snug fit that helps maintain direct touch and sharp control.
The streamlined slip-on construction wraps firmly around the foot and limits distractions. Underfoot, the SPEEDSYSTEM 2.0 outsole reacts during every push-off and supports explosive propulsion. PUMA developed the FastTrax 2.0 studs with dynamic pressure-mapping data. The studs grip the pitch during planting and release cleanly during acceleration, giving players traction in decisive phases of play.
PUMA also offers the ULTRA NITRO 7 ULTIMATE LL FG for players who prefer a laceless boot. This version dispenses with laces and creates a clean contact area for kicking the ball. A high-tension knitted ankle strap anchors at the heel and connects with the upper, securing the foot from the opening whistle until the final one.

The women’s fit version uses the same NITROFOAM ELITE technology and adjusts the shape around female foot anatomy. PUMA gives this edition a snugger forefoot, lower instep, redesigned collar and women’s fit sockliner. These changes tailor the fit while retaining the same speed-focused technology.
Andrej Zwer, PUMA Director of Product Line Management for Teamsport Footwear, says every design decision aims to help fast players gain additional speed. He points to the new last, lower weight and laceless version as direct responses to feedback from the players who work with PUMA. Zwer also explains that NITROFOAM ELITE addresses the small time differences that can decide play at the highest level.

The ULTRA NITRO 7 joins PUMA’s Q3 Arrival Pack, which uses a white and red color scheme. The pack also includes the FUTURE 9 ULTIMATE for playmakers and the KING 20 ULTIMATE, the twentieth generation of a boot that prioritizes touch and control.
PUMA names Neymar Jr, Xavi Simons, Cody Gakpo, Morgan Rogers, Christian Pulisic, Sandy Baltimore and Fridolina Rolfö among the players wearing the pack on the pitch. PUMA launches the ULTRA NITRO 7 in stores, on puma.com and through select retail partners on July 16.
