Salomon introduces the XT-EVO, a new addition to its XT franchise that develops the performance DNA of the XT-6 through a fresh design direction. Built around ideas of movement, speed and exploration, the silhouette takes familiar technical elements from the XT line and reshapes them through a more sculptural upper, sharper proportions and increased layering.

The design draws directly from the racing character of the XT-6. Salomon retains the technical foundation associated with the franchise while changing the way the upper looks and moves across the foot. Flowing lines run through the construction, while amplified layers create greater depth and give the shoe a more dynamic appearance from different angles.
For its launch colorway, Salomon uses a red, black and gray palette that references one of the original XT-6 colorways. The choice connects the new model to an earlier point in the XT line while giving the XT-EVO its own identity through revised materials and proportions.
Jumbo mesh remains a central part of the upper and continues one of the XT franchise’s recognizable design features. Salomon pairs the mesh with newly developed liquid rubber overlays that create additional texture and dimension across the shoe. These overlays follow the contours of the upper and strengthen the sense of motion built into the XT-EVO’s design.
The combination of mesh, rubber and layered construction gives the silhouette a more pronounced physical presence. Salomon uses these elements to communicate speed through shape rather than relying on a direct recreation of the XT-6.
Underneath the updated upper, the XT-EVO stays connected to the technical platform that has defined the XT series. The shoe features Salomon’s Agile Chassis System, which supports stability and control across changing terrain. The platform also provides cushioning and durability, keeping the performance qualities of the XT line central to the new design.
Salomon positions the XT-EVO as an evolution of a familiar formula rather than a departure from it. The new model carries forward the functional priorities associated with the franchise while introducing a stronger focus on sculptural form, layered surfaces and fluid lines. Its design responds to movement from multiple angles, giving the upper a visual rhythm that changes with perspective.
The XT-EVO also reflects Salomon’s ongoing approach to developing its established franchises through gradual design changes. Instead of replacing the XT-6 formula, the brand expands it through new materials, altered proportions and a more expressive construction. The first colorway makes that connection clear by referencing an earlier XT-6 palette. The Salomon XT-EVO will launch globally through Salomon beginning September 2 for $190.
