The Louis Vuitton Fall Winter 2024 Men’s Collection, envisioned by Pharrell Williams, explores the essence of the American Western wardrobe, fusing travel, workwear origins, and the brand’s exceptional savoir-faire. This collection represents a journey through American Western dress, incorporating elements from the Dakota and Lakota nations, and a collaboration with the iconic American bootmaker Timberland.
FALL WINTER 2024.25 MENSWEAR COLLECTIONS
The collection’s theme revolves around the exploration of workwear through Louis Vuitton’s lens, showcasing the finest craftsmanship in every piece. Precious gems, hand-painting, and expert embroidery techniques are used to accentuate the iconography of American Western attire. Creative exchanges with artists from the Dakota and Lakota nations add depth to the collection, encompassing sound, staging, and design elements. The Timberland collaboration emphasizes the collection’s connection to American workwear roots.
Each garment and accessory in the collection highlights creativity and skill. The synthesis of these elements is mirrored in the contemporary mechanics of Louis Vuitton Studio Prêt-à-Porter Homme, where individuals of diverse backgrounds collaborate on a shared vision. This ethos resonates with the core values of the Maison: discernment, savoir-faire, and travel as a source of vitality.
The savoir-faire of the collection honors the intrinsic workwear of the American West. Denim is adorned with pearl-and-sequin floral embroideries, gunmetal washes, sunbeam and rain beading, and Western floral motifs. Chaps in denim or fringed leather feature Monogram and floral embroideries, while leather jackets and trousers mimic saddle embossing. Plaid and Damier combine in a Buffalo Check interpretation across various fabrics, and blanket coats and gilets boast cowboy Monogram designs.
The American Western tradition of dressing up is reimagined in this collection, with suits and shirts chain-stitched with Western imagery. Workwear silhouettes are transformed into tailoring, featuring hand-embroidered metallic florals, multi-color beading, and metal-studded pinstripes or Damier chequers. Dungarees, a workwear staple, are celebrated in fine tailoring fabrics, and Western shirts are redefined with amplified yokes, rivets, and floral embroideries.
In collaboration with Timberland, American work boots are reinterpreted through Louis Vuitton’s creative lens, featuring waterproof scrivante nubuck with Monogram debossing, pebble nubuck, and super-grained buffalo nubuck versions. A highly limited-edition design includes genuine gold LV Monogram eyelets and tongue pendants, presented in Monogram canvas and plexiglass shoe trunks.
Artistic collaborations with Dakota and Lakota nation artists are showcased across accessories, the show’s staging, and its soundtrack. Led by creative director Dee Jay Two Bears of the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe, the collection builds on Pharrell Williams’ decade-long relationship with these nations. Bags embroidered with Dakota Flower motifs and Keepall bags hand-painted with parfleche motifs and Topa cross imagery exemplify this artistic exchange.
The Louis Vuitton Fall Winter 2024 Men’s collection also debuts a new heat-moulded handle bag conceived by Pharrell Williams, alongside innovative takes on classic Louis Vuitton bags. Special editions include book and tool bags, and Speedy and Steamer bags in hand-painted silver Monogram crocodile, ostrich Monogram, and nubuck croc.
Shoes in the collection draw inspiration from American West work boots, created in collaboration with expert Western bootmakers in Texas. The LV Texan, an authentic cowboy boot, and the LV Rodeo, a harnessed lace-up and cowboy-belt buckled monk shoe, feature Louis Vuitton’s iconography blended with American West motifs.
Parfleche blankets and Dakota Flower scarves, created with Dakota and Lakota artists and artisans, complement the collection. Cowboy hats in various materials, leather caps with cowboy boot details, and gloves with American Western motifs add to the collection’s thematic richness.
Jewelry in the collection, constructed in genuine turquoise, includes necklaces, rings, earrings, and bolos with turquoise cabochons and braided leather. The Louis Vuitton rope chain evolves in bracelets set with turquoise and pearl necklaces.
The Millionaires sunglasses, first created for Louis Vuitton by Pharrell Williams and Nigo in 2004, are reimagined in three new editions, including a carbon fiber version and a white gold and diamond-encrusted limited edition. Leather sunglasses adorned with turquoise, rivets, and studs pay homage to cowboy signatures, while metal-framed sunglasses feature double lenses inspired by the American West.
