Henrik Vibskov presents their Spring/Summer 2025 Studio Collection, “The Orchestra of the Soft Assistance.” This collection blends the grace of human empathy with the adaptive nature of the animal kingdom. The inspiration behind this collection lies in the theme of hands, symbolizing assistance, compassion, and adaptability. Vibskov invites us to celebrate the beauty of empathy and the power of versatility through this unique fashion narrative.
In creating this collection, Vibskov explored how hands represent more than just physical help; they embody the essence of empathy and the ability to understand and share the feelings of others. Just as hands adapt to different tasks, we must also adapt to the needs of those we assist and to the ever-changing world around us. This theme of adaptability and understanding is woven throughout the collection, highlighting the importance of human connection and support.
The collection draws significant inspiration from the marvels of the natural world, particularly the adaptive abilities of the octopus. Known for its capacity to morph its shape and color to blend seamlessly into its surroundings, the octopus symbolizes transformation and versatility. Vibskov’s designs reflect this mutability, encouraging us to re-examine our past behaviors and adapt to create actionable goals for a better future. The collection’s fluid silhouettes and versatile garments echo the octopus’s ability to transform and adapt.
“The Orchestra of the Soft Assistance” features an array of fluid silhouettes, morphed patterns, and versatile garments. By dissecting the classic check pattern, Vibskov has created a jacquard woven checkered fabric that morphs with ocean motifs, and a checkered knit where the pattern dissolves completely. Hands are a recurring motif, represented in prints as little fingers supporting you, chopped factory fingers, and analogue gloves. Peace offering messages are hidden in the corners, while a grey outline of fingers is developed into an exclusive textile resembling intertwined fingers, using 30-year-old archive materials from Dutel.
The collection’s silhouettes embrace natural adaptations, featuring wavy, soft amoeba shapes and reinterpretations of gliding mammals’ skin. These designs fit garments into a square, allowing the body to give them shape while letting the excess fabric flow along the sides. This approach to design emphasizes both form and function, creating pieces that are both visually striking and comfortable to wear.
In line with Vibskov’s commitment to sustainability, all fabrics have been transformed and elevated to be recycled or organic. For the SS25 Studio collection, 85.1% of the garments consist of at least 50% certified fibers, with certifications including GOTS Organic, GOTS Made with Organic, GRS Global Recycled Standard, EcoVero Viscose, and non-toxic dyes and prints. Vibskov continues to strive for increased sustainability with each upcoming season.
