PARAISO Miami Swim Week celebrated its monumental 20th anniversary from May 30th to June 2nd, 2024. For two decades, this event has been synonymous with style, music, and endless fun under the sun, establishing itself as the pinnacle of the industry worldwide. This year’s show featured a dazzling lineup of special events and showcased a mix of established and emerging designers. The celebration highlighted the latest Resort 2025 collections at the state-of-the-art Collins Park Tent, where a dynamic array of fashion shows took place over four days.
The main runway venue hosted swimwear brands such as ACACIA Andrea Lyamah, Sinesia Karol, Leslie Amon, Shan, Adriana Fernandez, Chloe Rose, PQ Swim, CUPSHE, Kulani Kinis, Oh Polly Swim, Sigal, Axil Swim, Luli Fama, Maaji, Nike Swim, and AZULU. The event also spotlighted the 5th annual Istituto Marangoni Upcycle Challenge, emphasizing sustainable practices in fashion. This initiative featured collective student shows that offered a glimpse into the future of eco-friendly fashion, with runway looks created using Sharpie Creative Markers.
PARAISO Miami Swim Week has seen a meteoric rise, garnering a media reach of 12.4 billion impressions in 2023, making it one of the most visible events in the United States. This year, the event attracted over 30,000 attendees and more than 7,500 global buyers. According to Natalija Dedic Stojanovic, Creative Director and co-Founder, PARAISO Miami Swim Week holds the same significance in swimwear fashion as Art Basel does in contemporary art. Over the past two decades, the event has expanded its scope and increased its visibility, making it a key fixture in the fashion calendar.
The event also featured the return of the Summer Fashion Summit, held in collaboration with SwimShow. This premier conference explored the latest trends and breakthrough ideas shaping the swimwear market, sustainability, marketing, and manufacturing. The Summit included insightful discussions, dynamic networking opportunities, and invaluable insights, supported by St. Thomas University and Mana Fashion Services. Additionally, Colombiamoda hosted a fashion talk with Agua Bendita and a trunk show featuring eight Colombian brands, along with a performance by Piso 21.
PARAISO Miami Swim Week’s special events extended beyond the main venue to various off-site locations, including pristine beaches, chic poolside retreats, and upscale restaurants. These venues provided breathtaking backdrops for the celebration of fashion and style. Notable locations included W South Beach, Miami Design District, Soho House, The Miami Beach EDITION, 1111 Lincoln Road, The Standard Spa Miami Beach, Bey_Bey, The Plymouth, Sophia Design District, and Esme. These diverse settings enhanced the overall experience, making this year’s swim week truly unforgettable.
The Istituto Marangoni Upcycle Challenge, a collaboration between Paraiso and Istituto Marangoni Miami, brought sustainability to the forefront. Five student designers were mentored by reputable swimwear brands such as Agua Bendita, Beach Riot, Riot Swim, Guess Inc., and Luli Fama. These brands donated dead-stock fabric for the challenge, teaching students how to reduce the environmental impact of creating new materials. The student designers presented their sustainable looks on the runway, showcasing innovative designs that did not compromise on style or luxury. This initiative highlights the importance of sustainability in fashion and encourages the next generation of designers to adopt eco-friendly practices in their work.
