PUMA and New York-based designer LaQuan Smith have reunited for a second collaboration, delivering a collection that channels the energy and discipline of boxing. Expanding on their first release, this new lineup presents a refined mix of performance and high fashion, blending Smith’s signature aesthetic with PUMA’s expertise in sportswear. The collection, featuring both apparel and footwear, introduces fresh takes on PUMA’s Speedcat silhouette while incorporating design choices influenced by the power and intensity of the ring.
Reinventing the Speedcat for the Ring
At the center of the collection is the Speedcat, a silhouette originally rooted in motorsport, now adapted for boxing-inspired style. The Speedcat Mid transforms the classic sneaker into a high-ankle design, incorporating padded satin construction in deep red with metallic accents. A silver PUMA cat logo on the tongue and sleek lacing up the calf reinforce the shoe’s elevated look. The low-top Speedcat offers a streamlined alternative, using premium materials to complement the collection’s overall aesthetic.

Boxing-Inspired Apparel with a Luxury Edge
Beyond footwear, the collection includes a range of apparel designed to echo the visual language of boxing gear while maintaining a polished, fashion-forward approach. Tear-away pants bring a functional yet dramatic element, while cropped jackets add structure and sharp lines to the collection. Boxing shorts, finished in satin and embellished with metallic details, bridge the gap between sport and style. The pieces incorporate a red and black color palette, reinforcing the visual impact of the collection while staying true to Smith’s signature design codes.
Pricing and Where to Buy
The PUMA x LaQuan Smith collection is priced between $80 and $180. The collection officially launches on March 15, available through PUMA’s official website, the PUMA NYC and Las Vegas flagship stores, and select retailers.

A Knockout Debut in New York
To mark the launch, PUMA and Smith hosted an event at Church Street Boxing Gym in New York City, transforming the space into an immersive experience reflecting the collection’s aesthetic. The campaign, photographed by fashion photographer Greg Swales, features Ming Lee Simmons, capturing the energy of the collaboration with visuals that place the designs directly in a boxing-inspired setting.
