Netflix releases the official trailer for Wednesday Season 2, Part 2 and sets the premiere for September 3. Part 1 (episodes 201–204) streams now, and Part 2 (episodes 205–208) arrives on September 3. The new footage centers on Wednesday Addams, played by Jenna Ortega, as she wakes from a coma and reenters the Gothic halls of Nevermore Academy with new problems and familiar faces.

The trailer confirms a major return. Larissa Weems appears to Wednesday as a spirit guide. Marilyn Thornhill poisoned Weems in Season 1, yet the new footage shows Gwendoline Christie back in character, now guiding Wednesday through a fresh crisis. Enid cannot see Weems in the trailer; Weems reveals herself only to Wednesday and announces her presence with a sly “Surprise!” The reveal reframes their mentor–student bond and gives Wednesday a spectral adviser as events accelerate.
Season 2 follows Wednesday as she manages family ties, friendships, and old adversaries. She faces Tyler Galpin, sees her powers glitch, and navigates Morticia’s presence on campus. The story plants a fresh supernatural mystery in Nevermore and asks Wednesday to solve it while she rebuilds strength after the Part 1 finale. The trailer sets that tone with quick flashes of danger, sharp exchanges, and a clear signal that guidance now arrives from beyond.
Alfred Gough and Miles Millar return as creators, showrunners, writers, and executive producers. Tim Burton returns as executive producer and director. The season credits list Burton on episodes 201, 204, 207, and 208; Paco Cabezas on episodes 202 and 203; and Angela Robinson on episodes 205 and 206. Executive producers include Steve Stark, Andrew Mittman, Meredith Averill, Karen Richards, Gail Berman, Jonathan Glickman, Tommy Harper, Kayla Alpert, and Kevin Miserocchi. MGM Television produces the series.

The cast anchors the new run with familiar leads. Series regulars include Jenna Ortega, Emma Myers, Steve Buscemi, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Luis Guzmán, and Hunter Doohan. Guest stars include Billie Piper, Jamie McShane, Joanna Lumley, Joonas Suotamo, Fred Armisen, Christopher Lloyd, Thandiwe Newton, Heather Matarazzo, and Haley Joel Osment. Part 2 adds Frances O’Connor and Lady Gaga.
Gwendoline Christie speaks to the return with clear affection for the role. She describes the joy of rejoining the ensemble and explains how Weems functions as a guide who steps in from another plane. The creative team frames the concept in simple terms: a spirit guide offers counsel, not a full restoration to life. The trailer reflects that rule with scenes that position Weems as near yet hidden, present for Wednesday and invisible to others.

Wednesday launched in 2022 under Gough and Millar, with characters based on the creations of Charles Addams and shaped for a new generation with Tim Burton’s direction. The series drew a massive audience, reached the #1 spot on Netflix’s list of most popular English shows of all time, and stayed in the Global Top 10 for 20 weeks. The first season drove a cultural ripple: Jenna Ortega’s Instagram following grew from 9 million to 37 million timed to release; The Cramps’ “Goo Goo Muck” surged by 5,000% in streams; millions of TikTok users recreated the dance sequence to Lady Gaga’s “Bloody Mary,” which spiked 1,800% on Spotify. Gaga later joined the series as a guest star for Season 2, following an announcement during Netflix Tudum 2025. The show earned 50 award nominations and 17 wins, including Emmys, Golden Globes, and SAG Awards.

Season 2 Part 1 (episodes 201–204) is available now. Season 2 Part 2 (episodes 205–208) lands on September 3. Netflix has already renewed Wednesday for a third season.
