The final trailer for Stranger Things season five confirms the scale and urgency of the series conclusion. Released as the last preview ahead of the finale, the footage focuses on Hawkins preparing for a decisive confrontation with Vecna while long-running character dynamics come to a head.

At the center of the trailer, Jim Hopper, played by David Harbour, addresses Eleven with a direct and emotional pep talk. He reminds her of the abuse, manipulation, and loss that shaped her life, while stressing her ability to keep fighting. The exchange reinforces Hopper’s role as Eleven’s surrogate father and frames the final conflict as personal as much as existential. Eleven, portrayed by Millie Bobby Brown, listens as Hopper urges her to fight one last time for what comes after Hawkins.

The trailer cuts to brief images of the looming threat. Dustin, played by Gaten Matarazzo, looks skyward as a red glow fills the scene, signaling the town’s proximity to collapse. Vecna appears through the image of his clawed hand emerging from Henry Creel’s body, again played by Jamie Campbell Bower. Hopper closes his message to Eleven with a clear directive to finish the fight.
The finale runs for 125 minutes and centers on a complex plan devised by the Hawkins group. According to co-creator Matt Duffer, the characters act without delay after the groundwork established earlier in the season. Episode seven lays out the strategy, allowing the finale to focus entirely on execution. The group plans to enter the Abyss, locate Vecna’s captured children, and trigger an explosion intended to destroy the Abyss, the Mind Flayer, and Vecna’s creatures.
Co-creator Ross Duffer describes an atmosphere of uncertainty heading into the final episode. A moment shared by Eleven and Kali, played by Linnea Berthelsen, suggests that Eleven may accept Kali’s plan to remain in the Upside Down during its destruction. Even with success on the table, the trailer leaves Eleven’s fate unresolved.
Netflix schedules limited fan screenings of the finale in more than 500 theaters throughout the United States and Canada, with locations listed at ST5Finale.com. The first seven episodes of season five stream now on Netflix, with the finale premiering on New Year’s Eve at 5 p.m.
