Lady Gaga and Doechii present the music video for “Runway,” their first collaboration, created for the upcoming film The Devil Wears Prada 2. The track first appeared in the film’s trailer and now arrives with a full visual directed by Parris Goebel. The video aligns with the film’s setting, capturing a behind-the-scenes moment as models prepare for the runway, shaping a production built around clothing, movement, and performance.

The video follows a clear structure driven by fashion and choreography. Gaga and Doechii move through a sequence of looks, each framed as part of a larger visual progression. The styling introduces a range of custom pieces, including a Miss Claire Sullivan gown, a LUAR twin suit, Bad Binch Tong Tong designs, Robert Wun creations, and a Guarav Gupta catsuit. Footwear plays a central role, with both artists wearing black Opera Platforms by Thom Solo, while Gaga appears in custom red crocodile Opera heels in another sequence. The wardrobe shifts rapidly, creating a constant change in silhouette and surface, supported by a group of dancers.
Goebel’s choreography builds around runway gestures, translating fashion presentation into performance. The final sequence brings both artists onto the runway, where the visual concept reaches its conclusion. The track itself supports this direction. “Runway” functions as a high-energy song built around references to fashion culture, performance, and presence.
The collaboration between Gaga and Doechii draws on an existing sense of mutual respect. In an interview with British Vogue, Gaga praised Doechii’s writing, describing her as an artist whose perspective and lyrical approach stand out. She pointed to the strength and vulnerability in Doechii’s work, along with her ability to combine confidence with emotional clarity. Doechii has also expressed admiration for Gaga, citing her as an influence. This exchange became visible when Doechii presented Gaga with the Innovator Award at the 2025 iHeartRadio Music Awards.
The release of “Runway” arrives ahead of The Devil Wears Prada 2, which continues the story of the original film. The sequel brings back its core cast, including Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt, and Stanley Tucci. Streep returns as Miranda Priestly, now facing the decline of print media and changing industry conditions at the fictional Runway magazine.
