Lana Del Rey Confirms a Companion Album to “Stove”

Lana Del Rey says her long-awaited album Stove will arrive alongside a second, separate record. She shared the update through a lengthy Instagram post and explained that she needs about one more month to complete the companion project before she sends both albums to vinyl.

Del Rey did not confirm the second album’s title. Fans have connected it to the name Spyda after noticing the word written on artwork that accompanied her post. One image showed Del Rey framed by flowers beneath the title Stove. Another featured a boat that appeared to carry the name “Spyda.” Neither project currently has a release date.

The announcement adds another turn to an album cycle that began in early 2024. Del Rey first introduced the follow-up to 2023’s Did You Know That There’s a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd under the title Lasso. She later changed the name to The Right Person Will Stay before settling on Stove, at least for now. Several planned release dates passed while she continued to develop the material.

During that period, Del Rey released “Henry, Come On,” “Bluebird,” and “White Feather Hawk Tail Deer Hunter.” She also previewed other songs during live performances, giving audiences an early sense of music that may appear across the two records.

In her latest message, Del Rey described the past four years as a period of waiting, uncertainty, change, and renewed growth. She explained that new thoughts about old friends and new dreams entered the songs while she questioned whether her plans would take shape. Numerous collaborators then helped her assemble a large companion album and organize her thoughts about everything that had changed.

Del Rey described Stove as the first record she completed. She said the album remains intact and close to her original intention, with much of its music already familiar from touring and previous previews. She also thanked everyone who contributed to the project.

Continued work on Stove then led to the second album. Del Rey called it a response to recent events and to the patience that the creative process demanded. She also reflected on the trust she needed while accepting that every difficulty did not come from her own decisions. According to the singer, the companion record grew from doubt, hope, new beginnings, and the need to start again.

Del Rey thanked listeners for waiting and described the two albums as among her most beautiful works. She connected their development to plans that began with growth and joy, then expanded through uncertainty and change. Her message compared that experience to moving along a new river without control over its direction.

Del Rey ended by asking listeners to trust the process. She thanked those who continued to follow the project and expressed understanding toward anyone who chose not to wait. For now, Stove and its unnamed companion remain without release dates as she prepares both records for vinyl.
