Supreme and Nike have revealed the Air Max 2001 Air Ecstasy for Fall Winter 2026, bringing back the long-discontinued Air Max 2001 for its first retro release. The collaboration returns to Nike’s Alpha Project archive and updates the early-2000s runner through Supreme’s color choices and branding.

SNEAKERS

The sneaker arrives in three colorways, led by a red version with a quilted mesh upper finished in a matte texture. Supreme uses its signature red tone throughout most of the upper, giving the model a direct connection to the New York label. A bright yellow midsole creates the main contrast, while silver-toned transparent Air units sit underfoot and add another visual element to the color scheme.

Alongside the red edition, Supreme and Nike introduce an all-black version that applies a darker treatment across the silhouette. The third pair uses a white mesh upper with an icy-blue gradient overlay, with the blue treatment extending into the Air units below. The three editions give the model distinct visual identities while retaining the same construction throughout the release.

The biggest change appears in the TPU cage that runs through the upper. Nike originally used straight horizontal lines on the Air Max 2001, but Supreme replaces those elements with lettering. The modified structure spells out “Supreme” across the lateral and medial sides, turning a functional part of the original design into the collaboration’s main graphic detail.

That treatment gives the sneaker a recognizable Supreme identity without removing the architecture of the original Air Max 2001. The shape still reflects the performance-running design language associated with Nike’s early-2000s Alpha Project period. The cage, mesh construction and visible Air units remain central to the silhouette, while the revised lettering changes how those familiar components read visually.

Additional construction details include 3M Reflective TPU logos at the side and heel, along with reflective lace loops and a reflective panel on the tongue. A Phylon midsole houses transparent Air units above a rubber outsole. Inside, Supreme and Nike add a co-branded footbed, mesh collar and mesh tongue lining, while debossed graphics appear at the heel and midsole.

The Air Max 2001 Air Ecstasy also continues Supreme’s interest in lesser-known Nike models. Rather than working with one of the brand’s most frequently retroed silhouettes, the collaboration returns to a sneaker that has remained absent since its original release period. The Fall Winter 2026 version marks the first time Nike has brought the Air Max 2001 back in retro form.

Made exclusively for Supreme, the Supreme x Nike Air Max 2001 Air Ecstasy will release in all three colorways through Supreme on August 27, followed by an August 29 release in Asia.
