There are several things homeowners dread to do, and cleaning the house is one of them. Keeping your home clean and tidy every day may seem overwhelming, but it is possible and has many more benefits than not. While cleaning and keeping your home tidy may be hygienic, you would rather do that than having to find out how to get rid of raccoons in your attic.

Studies show that families spend an average of one hour cleaning their homes every day. This may be tough to keep up with all daily activities like parenthood, errands, work, and the chaos life brings. Here are a few tips to keep your house clean every day of the week and hopefully make your life easier.

Stow Everything After Each Use

As simple as it may sound, failing to stow your belongings after use is one of the biggest causes of untidiness. Before leaving any space in your home, a good practice is to scan the rook and pick up anything you can to leave it tidy. Leaving one item on the floor can easily lead to another on the bed, and before you know it, dishes are waiting or postponed until tomorrow.

Remember, a big mess only begins with an unattended small bunch. If you do not have enough space in your closet or bathroom, consider getting extenders for items that need hanging, and corral all small belongings and stow them.

Clean One Room at A Time

Trying to tackle all your rooms at once can make the experience feel daunting and tedious. However, when you break down the tasks and focus on one room at a time, you can get a lot more done in less time. When cleaning your bathroom, it’s essential to try and clean up after yourself every day. The bathroom endures different kinds of messes from everyone in the household.

So, the best practice is to wash the basin, shower, and wiping down the mirror after each use. Keeping the bedroom tidy depends on making your bed and sufficient storage compartments. You may need storage to pack your clothes, books, valuable jewelry, and bed linens. Stowing and keeping these items out of sight can make your room look significantly cleaner.

Depending on the house plan, the kitchen and living spaces nowadays are generally open plans. Preventing you from keeping your house clean is a messy kitchen with undone dishes which makes the entire living space look and feel untidy. Likewise, with the living space, loose items that aren’t placed where they are supposed to make the home unpleasant for the family and guests.

Power Clean

Sometimes you may not have an hour a day to tidy up your whole house clean, and that may demotivate you from doing the little things. However, you can make this a little more fun for you and your family. Before going to bed, the family can join in a 10 – 15 minute “power” cleanup session, focusing on all traffic areas and items that pose the most mess in the house. It can be the foyer, kids’ bedroom, kitchen, or the living room; daily housekeeping can help maintain a fresh look and save you from issues down the line.
