When fashion meets nature, the results are often unexpected, a dance between the refined aesthetics of the catwalk and the raw beauty of the great outdoors. NO/FAITH STUDIOS (NFS), the avant-garde German label, has perfectly executed this dance with its newest “Nationalpark Eifel” collection.
SPRING SUMMER 2024 COLLECTIONS
Exclusively unveiled at the upscale MODES Boutique in Paris on September 27th, NFS painted a picture not just of clothing but of a day’s adventure at Germany’s national park, the Eifel.
At the heart of this collection lies the Eifel Area, a sprawling nature reserve that serves as both inspiration and the backdrop for NFS’s Atelier. The designs effortlessly channel the park’s breathtaking landscapes, from the serene water bodies to the lush green expanses.
Our newest collection is like a tour through my hometown area. Most people in Germany never even heard of the Eifel, capturing my surroundings and influences in 45 timeless looks makes it the most personal collection I could ever create. – Luis Dobbelgarten, Designer and Founder of No/Faith Studios.
Designer Luis Dobbelgarten masterfully plays with contrasts. The collection’s palette, dominated by earthy tones, seems to be in direct conversation with the audacious frays and cuts that epitomize his design sensibilities. The influence of the “Eifel-Therme Zikkurat,” a local wellness spa, adds an unexpected twist, with certain pieces evoking the calm and tranquility of a spa retreat.
Each piece is a testament to NFS’s approach to fashion – deliberate, bold, and profoundly observant. The flowing silhouettes, exaggerated belts, and purposefully unkempt looks might appear to be borne out of fashion chaos. Still, they are, in truth, the result of precise and mindful design, capturing the essence of a traveler ambling through the Eifel.
Post their transformative journey to Napoli’s leather factories, NFS has ingeniously incorporated branding in their designs. Their unique camo pattern, a branding element, is a study in subtlety, revealing itself only to the keenest of observers. The print, reminiscent of weathered stonewalls on leather, blends brand identity with the rugged allure of outdoor gear.
In an industry often focused on the future, NFS takes a moment to glance back, honoring the Eifel’s heritage. The collection’s functional aesthetics resonate with the uniforms of the region’s working class, especially the National Park rangers, capturing the spirit of those for whom Eifel isn’t just a tourist destination but home.
why eifel? cause its in paris? lol
