Jacquemus, gears up for another spectacular runway show – Set to take place on January 29, the event marks a triumphant return to the designer’s beloved South of France, following his memorable show at Versailles last June.
The venue for this much-anticipated event is none other than the Fondation Maeght in Saint-Paul-de-Vence, a revered institution dedicated to modern and contemporary art, nestled between the picturesque locales of Nice and Cannes. This is not the first time the foundation, known for its Giacometti sculptures, has played host to a fashion event, having welcomed Louis Vuitton for its 2019 cruise collection.
“Les sculptures”: A Tribute to Giacometti
In what promises to be a stunning blend of art and fashion, Jacquemus has aptly titled the collection “Les sculptures”. This homage to Alberto Giacometti aligns perfectly with the setting, as Fondation Maeght boasts an impressive array of the artist’s works, including rare bronze sculptures from the 1930s. Breaking away from traditional fashion norms, Jacquemus’s show will spotlight his Spring-Summer 2024 collection, unshackled from the conventional seasonal calendar.

Inspiration Rooted in Mallemort
Simon Porte Jacquemus draws deep inspiration from his hometown of Mallemort, a quaint, sun-drenched town situated between Marseille and Avignon. Since 2009, this idyllic setting has been a fountain of creativity for his fresh, sensual designs.
A History of Riveting Shows in Southern France
Jacquemus’s choice of the South of France is a recurring theme, with this event marking the fifth time the designer has selected this region for his shows. His past events include the 2017 show on the aerial footbridge in Marseille, the 2018 men’s show in the Sormiou cove, the 2019 show amidst the lavender fields of Valensole, and the 2022 show near the Camargue salt mountains of Salin-de-Giraud.

Expanding into Children’s Fashion
It is busy time of the year for the french designer and his lable, Jacquemus has also launched a children’s line, following a preliminary introduction in late 2021. This junior collection, catering to boys and girls aged 4 to 12, miniaturizes the brand’s classic pieces, infusing them with playful elements. To celebrate this launch, a whimsical pop-up store has opened at Galeries Lafayette Haussmann in Paris. The store, designed like a mini-cinema with a porthole-shaped screen, offers an enchanting experience for its young patrons.
